Oct 29, 2019I think I've decided on my final rating for Jesus Is King: 8.5/10.
The album has great production (it's great how he can make a song catchy without having to use 'banger' drums, tho the songs with drums do slap just a tad more) and the repeat factor where I can listen to it again and again and not get bored. The pacing is near perfect but I wish that some of the songs were given a bit more room to breathe (Jesus Is Lord, Water, God Is) and that the album was just a little longer. Like 30-35 mins.Also some of the transitions between parts of songs felt really sloppy and should have been ironed out in the mixing stages (Everything We Need, Selah, Use This Gospel), but I accept that it also could just be a me problem because I listened to the Yandhi leaks and it's not as noticeable to other people.
