this was so good
blew my expectations away. amazing footage and well crafted narrative
crazy seeing Kanye as this shy, polite kid trying to break into the industry while people take advantage of him. makes sense why he would go full a****** after so many people didn't believe in him. also really puts into perspective the idea that some people quit right before they're about to strike big
the scenes with Donda were really powerful too. you can tell that's where he gets his confidence from and what a positive force she was in his life
so well done so far, can't wait for the next two episodes
Kinda sad watching people discredit him to his face and him just smiling
But regardless gotta respect the grind and his faith in his craft

he knew he was gonna accomplish everything he wanted to
Had me tearing up fr
The way she memorized the verses he wrote when he was young...so beautiful man

Yup this terrible review is another example
Contains a lot of spoilers btw
Wish music sites like Pitchfork would just focus on the music.
They make it sound like everyone is somehow losing all the music he made from Dropout to TLOP because of his personal actions. Or like Ye was an early 2000s friend they grew apart from instead of a musician they never personally knew
All the music is still there. That's gotta matter more than the bullshit in the long run. Also for all the talk of tragic falls, musically he seems to be getting more popular again for the first time since Pablo.

Donda made him the most popular he's been since Pablo and it was all because of the music, he didn't say a word up until Donda dropped
These reviewers can't seem to stop being subjective and insert their own beliefs into their articles. Because they personally stopped liking him they expect or think that the same goes for the general public which objectively is not the case

Many of Ye's actions aren't defendable, but I feel like so many stars do stupid s*** but they just don't do it in public. These journalists seem to wanna act like they're above all the celebrity drama but at the same time are attached to these ideas they have about total strangers and won't stop going on about that drama.
Meanwhile, most of the time the actual consequences of the things they're mad about seem pretty small. Especially with Ye when so many controversy's from the last 5 years have been too confusing, vague and contradictory to actually make an impact.
Really it probably just comes down to clicks. If they cared about good journalism they'd separate the music/review articles and the drama articles.

Exactly
Man this made love kanye all over again. You can see how much he was overlooked at every turn
It makes me sad how many bridges he burned though. Kweli gave him the mic when Noone wanted to and now they ain't really speaking last I heard
Coodie really saw greatness way before most, crazy how early he decided to make this
Smartest decision ever
white supremacy mad as f***
what the f*** 😭
That nigga Doug was fake asf man
On god. Bro hit Ye wit “it’s just rap” but if it wasn’t personal then you wouldn’t have been in ya feelings over an interview? OGs ain’t supposed to be envious smh and Ye looked up to him so much you can tell that s*** hurt and he let him sweet talk em
Scarface really fumbled the bag
Yeah that was crazy lol but in Face’s defense he didn’t know Ye’s rap career would blow like it has he prolly been in plenty of sessions and didn’t mmmmmmmmm passed on records.
it should be illegal for people that look like THIS to speak on black excellence

MFs like this were d***eating Ye only a few years ago
Kanye always been himself. People saying he changed look stupid asf now
Only difference is he ain’t have the bag and the level of fame he attained but his Ego was always there s*** he rapped about it and honestly if he didn’t have that inner confidence who knows where his career wouldve went. His mom explained it perfectly when they were in her apartment
b****es crying about coodie need to grow up
dude talks about his show for like 2-4 minutes out of 1 hr 20 mins and it’s still relevant info come tf on
anyone saying it’s unnecessary is weirdo behavior a lot of y’all don’t be grateful for nun
Coodie story is just as interesting as Kanye’s imagine you just stopping what you’re doing to go follow this guy around New York who’s not quite famous but you believe he’s gonna be the next big thing. The only thing he got out of it at the time was the mtv thing and the through the wire music video.
Ye p*** addiction popping up in this 🤣
