JIK is great as well Dondas got non stop joints and a few absolute masterpieces like Come To Life, 24 and Jesus Lord that tap into something nobody else could let alone these other rappers.
Kanyes rapping rapping, his humor totally intact, each song distinct from the next but all have similar enough sonic texture to seem of a part, music equally split between the older school of clearly enunciated lyrics and impressive incorporation of the new school of melodic rappers. Powerful intent and vision.
I think Jail might be the only song I would've omitted if I was deciding the tracklist tbh.
Yeah those gospel songs are beautifully crafted but they bore me personally
I’m no atheist and I believe there is a higher power/oversoul that all life is derived from but outside of that I’m pretty scientific and practical so they do nothing for me

i don't think it was really necessary. he was still immensely popular and could make waves whenever he previewed new music. these shock jock antics are just tainting his image by making it obvious that he's insecure about not being seen as controversial anymore.
whenever he was controversial before, it felt like it came from a place of genuine indignation. now he just looks cringe and desperate, which is somehow worse for his brand.

Im the same and just apply my vague feeling of spirituality to the feeling that they conjure with gospel music and it becomes just as uplifting and transcendent
