It’s not that black people don’t like rock-it’s just that many simply don’t know the genre. Rock is sterotyped as guitar hero/emo or metal type songs when it’s much more than that

Funk is a subgenre of rock, I know that. But niggas consider it it's own thing which is why I said stereotype, but even then if it's a black rock band it'll be some old s*** rather than some indie bandcamp rock band. (generalizing)

I know that black people like rock, but heavily generalizing, they like older rock especially under more soulful subgenres like funk or styles that tiptoe the line even though some black people don't consider it rock at all even though it is. Even then rock is still white dominated as there is a lack of newer rock bands that consists heavily of black members being pushed onto the mainstream and niggas not looking for underground rock artists either (generally speaking).

TLDR: Barbershop niggas look at rock as mysterious music even when they too tend to listen to old funk records at family reunions and s***
