I assume you didn't live through the graduation rollout. That was really when Kanye became a superstar. Stronger, , i wonder, good life, can't tell me nothing, flashing lights literally on repeat everywhere from the streets to the suburbs.
You're calling it underrated because those songs' times have come and gone but when that s*** dropped it was all you heard everywhere - clubs, grocery stores, walmart, car stereos, TV, etc.
but they've got a point.
it seems impossible (to me atleast) to actually guage which narrative of "Ye's best album" is the strongest but in the past years Yeezus and MBDTF seem to be the forerunners, at least to me.
and from that i get where OP's coming from.
like you said Graduation was the album that really made Kanye a star. as crazy as it sounds, he executed a crazy blend of what white and black people wanted from pop music at the time. he was tiptoeing the balance so well.
Hell nah', it's widely considered to be a classic.
Out of his first 5 albums, "808's" is the black sheep of the group.
In his overall discography though, I think it may be "Yeezus".
One of his worst tbh
I agree but I still think it’s underrated. I guess what I really mean is I hardly ever see people putting graduation as their favorite Kanye album.
