Is it the mixing or does Kanye not like recording in a booth? As of late his vocals sounds like he’s been recording on a desk with a mic stand...wtf

Sounds like he went from using a high end condenser mic (like a C800G) to using a much cheaper dynamic handheld mic, like an SM58. ESPECIALLY on s*** like Follow God - it totally gives it a different sound.

This is literally how he’s been recording every album since WTT

Recently there’s video of him using a corded mic like in that Swizz video.

the consistency of his recorded is so ed. It's hard to pinpoint every individual song but Ye and Jesus is King is very noticeable!
