Forget which interview it was but I think kendrick said MBDTF was all he was listening to when making section 80.
I think he might have gotten influenced by yeezus while being on the tour while working on tpab

"It was hard for me to grasp it on the first take," K-Dot told MTV News at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. "I got it, but as I kept listening throughout the week, I understood where he was going and that was him stepping out of the box again and doing what he felt"

"Kendrick Lamar has explicitly cited MBDTF as one of the primary inspirations in utilizing instruments and samples not traditional to hip-hop to create albums such as Section.80 (2011)."

I’m yelling Mr. Kanye West for president
He probably let me get some head inside the residence
I’m in the White House going all out
Bumping College Dropout, God bless Americans
He has tracks with beats/sounds that have flashes of Ye influence
It’s not obvious but if you listen enough you can hear it
Would be interesting to hear what they come with if they locked in

Damn I was gonna mention this
You can lowkey hear the influence on the album
The use of samples, heavy drum breaks, and vocal chants lowkey reminds me of MBDTF. The distorted vocal effect he uses is some Ye s*** too

das crazy
Kendrick is a huge Kanye fan even though you'd probably never hear him say it himself
I would've loved to see them do an album together during the TLOP era
The “Give me some Ganja” sample from DNA sounds like the “Look at cha” sample from Runaway
