Maybe this isn’t the space to say it but I always thought some of the fans who were mourning pop in the context of gun violence was kinda weird because so much of the musical content was about those actions towards someone else? Sometimes I just wonder where the empathy is for the victims being portrayed in the music. So it was a lil confusing to me …like they thought it was bad but when it was in the song as lyrics it was fine..?

Edit: I know lyrics and reality can be separate things but people could be discerning enough to know what was off base and what was close to real so I thought it was a bit surprising to be surprised and lament what happen when it was what was happening just not to the person making the music at the time…
