The out of nowhere drop. The shock and awe of the title. I thought bro was about to wild out on the beats. It's just decent to me, and there's nothing wrong with that either.
this not really pointed towards you specifically but the general sentiment I get when looking at Kaytranada critique online and I wonder what is it that folks (in general) look for from producer albums?
the biggest criticism I'll always have towards Kaytranada (aint even musical) is why we have not gotten a fully collab mick jenkins album (or a fully collab mach hommy album, or a fully collab anderson paak album)

This.
People want features, not beats.
Unfortunately without a voice, instrumentals go straight to oblivion
Sad because project is sweet

dj cowriiie (keiyaA) put out a beat tape last year that I was enthralled by and revisited a bunch.
Kaytra has had beats that I've been enthralled by.
This first listen just didn't have me enthralled is all, personally.
