whats up guys. I started producing about 6 months ago, and I almost exclusively chops songs up to make my beats; however, I keep running into this weird problem where I can't stop making 3 bar loops, can anyone explain what this means? I do not know much about music theory I just try to make stuff that sounds good. Do I have the song in the wrong tempo from the start, or is it possible that I have just been picking old songs that happen to be in 3/4 and I am not noticing? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Post an example but if the loop don’t sound weirdly timed it may be in 3/4 but it’s also kinda unlikely that everyone you chop a sample it’s in 3/4

thanks for the response, I haven't released anything yet but here is a google drive link to a song that is built around a 3 bar loop
This is good though, I also love experimenting like this but I don't do it as often
If you do it as much as you say you do, you're already at an advantage
Ima show you

Thank you man, I really appreciate that, its just frustrating when I am not trying to do it and I don't understand the reason why, but that definitely made me feel better. I know Dilla used 3-bar loops sometimes, but he's dilla you know what i mean lol.

F*** all that regular s*** tho, I love making music in different time signatures I can;t find the example beat tho f***
This is also irregular time signature
And this is 4/4 but I made it tricky so it doesn't sound 4/4 it messes with your head bop - but it is
So you're not alone

Nice, these both sound great man, and I appreciate it a whole lot. Guess I just need to stop thinking about it so hard, if it sounds good it sounds good, f*** it lmao

Its just music, it's never gonna connect with anyone as much as it does with you
I learned it when I started making mine, you can even check the thread if you want, it's a lot of different sounding but all in the base of hip hop
Just do what u want because somebody will like it even if it's only you
Cause if you don't make it for you who you make it for?
It's an expression, I had a lot of the loops talk FOR ME
Literally chopped this rn (not that its 3/4)
It's just do what you wanna do man
