Amazing amazing music

Only complaint I have is some of the vocal mixing is really loud/harsh, like Outta Time, where the mix doesn’t sound glued together because the vocals punch through so aggressively. Weird because usually her albums sound amazing.

But yeah this is a strong record. It’s a breakup album that hurts in more ways than just the lyrics and doesn’t draw a ton of attention to how sad the context was. It’s actually very creative and has a lot of swagger to it. Idea 1 and Crystalize are fantastic.

There was a bit of polish missing from this one that the last couple albums had (apparently Kelela mixed this herself instead of outsourcing it), but it’s not a huge deal because the songs are still great

Huge! Hallucinogen EP, Take Me Apart, Raven. All timeless blueprints I'll of course give this the time and opportunity to grow as well.
