great album but i prefer take me apart. one of my favorites of the 2010s.
i tried to listen take me apart for the first time right after raven and it felt a lil bit formulaic compared to ravens superior sound

Formulaic how?
I also prefer raven because it feels more seasoned and just grander, but take me apart is still elite

raven's amazing but lets not downplay take me apart
@Stabane101 @hayabusa i guess i prefer more esoteric / ambient sound
then
I love both albums equally tbh
To me its a bit like Chanel Orange and Blonde situation. Blonde made me appreciate and love CO so much more. Going back to Take me Apart i forgot how many great songs it had.
Was never quite as blown away by Take Me Apart as many of you.
This on the other hand. All I want to listen to day in day out since it dropped.
Really loved Aquaphoria too. So clearly just enjoy the ambient side of her music more.
What you mean?
That she less popular with the new album than she was with her debut

Still too early for me to compare them when the new album just dropped but so far I still prefer Take Me Apart because of its lyrics tbh

Oh trueee she did take a mean gap but I see this album being appreciated a lot more as the year goes on

yeah
she's already so iconic
Just want her to get her flowers
Oh, it's a sauna, here if you wanna
I'm standin' in the light
It's 2 AM, yeah, we made it, everybody faded

Enough For Love is so good
Interesting thing going on with album covers and vocals
Take Me Apart is the more upfront album, really deadest on leaving an impression while Raven is more watery and concerned with space and separation.
It’s cool that Kelela is centered more further away in the Take Me Apart cover but her vocals are closer, while in Raven it’s the opposite. Her face is closer but there is more distance and reverb on her voice
closure is so damn good
but i can’t lie, that’s the only song i’ve been coming back to. i’ll have to revisit this but idk :/
Divorce probably has the coolest alien sounding opening I’ve heard on a song in a minute
It’s so eerie
