Spotify is projected to have 45 mil paid subscribers in 2025. I personally think it will take more than that. But I don't know how much.
And if someone does it, it will be the greatest feat in music history to me.
Yea fr. With this current drought of no millions, it's gonna be a moment if it happens again
i mean its not like many albums have ever sold 1 mil in a week
thats an insane feat for any artist regardless of popularity

J Prince is gonna bring Ye and Taylor together in the booth and have them make a Taylor album produced by Kanye.
Should do a milli.
It may just happen. But one things for-sure, he's going gold in a week, no question about that at all.
Keem stimulus
They still saying the album dropping Q4. What y'all think? December 17th?
who is they
just wait and see. he got 2022 in a chokehold.
gonna be a collab ep with baby keem but ok
who is they
Flopdawg Entertrainwreck as they are supposedly holding the album hostage for more royalty money.
Why are people arguing against this? You’re right lol. Y’all can’t come into a numbers thread and just spew numbers without context. Kendrick’s last album sold 603k with 2 huge lead singles and bundling on the side. We’ve seen two artist (Drake and Adele) who could sell a million not be able to do so and their numbers are lower. It’s a different time now.
Also:
In the United States, Damn debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 603,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release, becoming his third consecutive album after To Pimp a Butterfly (2015) and Untitled Unmastered (2016) to reach the nation's summit. It sold 353,000 copies in its first week and accumulated over 340 million streams.
Kendrick will do more streams this time around (probably somewhere around 400-500M streams) but his pure sales will be A LOT lower. Definitely less than 100k. That alone will make it hard for him to reach 500k.
Adele didn't do a mil, he's not
Probably will get around same numbers as her album tho
He’s been gone for 5 years.
and? thats just gonna make his first week even bigger than if he was dropping every 6 months

Not even close to her tbh
The only way that would even be a distant possibility is if he dropped a legendary #1 song that topped the chart for weeks on end and did some type of publicity stunt
He has never done either of those so it’s not happening

I don't think disappearing helps artists anymore, there's too many other artists that fill the void now. Do you think the average 16 year old cares about Kendrick anymore? I bet if you ask the average 16-18 year old kid in america who their top 10 favourite artists are you'd rarely hear Kendrick's name. cause they were 11-13 when DAMN dropped. They're into artists that drop regularly. Post Malone, Youngboy, Ariana etc.
i think this a big reason Adele isn't doing insane numbers anymore. Same with Rocky & Big Sean & many others
all the top streaming artists are artists who drop at least every 2 years
It's going to be a great project regardless of what it sells. Only washed artists have to fall back on numbers

16-18 year olds were never Kendrick’s target audience so I doubt that affects him at all.
