    Y’all not gonna like this

But Kendrick would’ve went personal either way and was just using that as an excuse/moral high ground lol

“You tell me what I shouldn’t say, but f*** it my dude it’s already done”

All that double talk about “don’t say this or I’ll say things also” was kind of lame tbh probably the worst part of Kendricks strong disses and it’s dope how drake was able to point that out

That double talk “I’m warning you buddy” was in Push Ups and 7 min drill too

Nah. It was strictly competition until Drake mentioned Whitney. Same thing with Infrared -> Duppy. Drake mentioning wives/fiancés is the common denominator.

Like That wasn’t strictly competition Kendrick was talking some s*** outside of rap

They don’t. That’s the new cope to give Drake. An excuse for the Whitney line on mid ups

Nah he meant it literal. He mentioned gun talk, street s*** and physical aggression too much to say it’s just rap. Kendrick his own man but I was always surprised he went that route so heavy in this beef. A lot of violent implications in Euphoria and Not Like Us too

    Kendrick warned him

But tbh Kendrick didn’t expect Drake to honor that for a single second

That’s why he warned him on 616 that he had a mole in his camp. He really tried to deescalate at the last minute but Drake wouldn’t budge

Wasn’t drake supposed to be into battle rap? Does he think they’re gonna kill eachother everytime he watches it?

There’s a reason he prefaced that line by mentioning he had his bodyguard with him

He wouldn’t need his bodyguard to snatch a metaphorical chain

    This isn’t battle rap

Anyone comparing an MC battle of this type to an actual spoken word rap battle is slow

euphoria and NLU yeah but those lines were metaphors for taking his place as #1 on like that, unless something happened behind the scenes between them there’s no reason to think any of those lines were literal threats

he even said “guess integrity is lost when the metaphors doesn’t reach you” on MTG

Those were not metaphors dude but honestly I don’t even want to argue this

That connection to that MTG line is a classic Kendrick stan reach

“That Oakland show gon be your last stop” is not a metaphor fam

So what makes a mainstream battle more inclined to violence than battle rap? I’m not understanding what makes one literal and the other not

Two New York dudes saying theyre going to let off the chrome on their opponents dome for battle effect is just different from an LA dude and a canadian dude saying it lol
