To be fair those last verses on NLU are complex af lmao. He namedrops hella people it's hard to remember every line
he was probably nervous af. First performance in a while, never performed that song..
understandable
He played it off smooth enough my gf didn't even notice but I was like
That too. He just had his birthday and won the biggest beef in music history and was there to end gang wars. He's still the dude who cried when the west coast legends anointed him. Sensitive guy with a crazy poker face
Moment was so hype I didn't notice as much until the replay lol
Ok but you aren’t doing that on the spot in a arena infront of 20K people on an Amazon livestream infront of millions of people
As someone who has performed on stage, it is a different type of energy and adrenaline that kicks in. It’s not just like rapping the song in your bedroom by yourself.
I know im definitely kidding. My brother who does do music said “if he was in recording mode and he did multiple versions of songs and also was engaged in a rap battle, it’s pretty hard with limited time to rehearse and remember everything”
Kendrick doesn’t just one word rap lol. So I get it. It made it more organic though.
A mf disagree and willing to be enlightened and 16 year olds call me a troll because they lack the experience to actually converse. I’m not trolling, I’m trying to get right here with yall
people called you a troll cuz the way you came in seemed like you were on some strawman s*** especially with the Al Sharpton question lol
We've heard the "savior" argument here a lot and you being a no avi 2024 account using it just gave off the vibe that you were tryna start some s*** lol
I don't think anyone sees Dot as a Malcolm X type we just appreciate the music and art
Drake should not have pussied out.
Even if he did get outrapped so what? He would’ve gone about his day and people would’ve still loved him.
Now he got the world calling him a pedo and embarrassing him constantly after losing the most important beef of his career. A much worse outcome then being “outrapped”
It's crazy cause he didn't go crazy on it with just Cole on it, cause he doesn't look at Cole as competition
Cole even said this on Yachty podcast, that beatswitch he just focused on the song and not outrapping Cole

Yeah he could’ve just sent a dummy verse and then went back and rewrote and recorded after Kendrick sent his in. Or he could’ve just invited him to the studio so they could all do it together. He had options for sure.
Makes what Cole did lame af too. Bro knew the drama behind the scenes and how the dot feature fell apart but still mentioned him on the song. No wonder Kendrick responded to them on Like That
No excuses. I can rap all of those songs without messing up. He did just record an album though lol.
You rap them in front of 17,000 people?
Idk that was truly iconic and a bunch of goats
Too soon to say
Atleast top 5. I'd still put Tupac house of blues, up in smoke and the hard knock life above this one. But it's up there.
I will say that Drake never sends out his acapellas or some s*** UNTIL the album is about to drop. Travis got Sicko Mode hours before the album came out.
So him sending an instrumental is kind of understandable but ehhhh
he was probably nervous af. First performance in a while, never performed that song..

I would like to see him once with a hypeman on stage that would finish some lyrics. He's a great performer but sometimes he goes too far with
BRACE YOURSELF, I'LL TAKE YOU ON A TRIP DOWN MEMORY
NOT A RAP ON HOW I'M SLINGIN' CRACK OR MOVE CO-
CUL-DE-SAC AND PLENTY COGNAC AND MAJOR
DRILL SERGEANT, BUT THE STRESS, WEIGHIN' ON YOUR

He's gotten better at it over the years for sure
It’s always gon be a dark butt saying “YOU WAFFLE COLORED NIGGAS GOT IT MADE, I HATE YOU NIGGAS”
Like I got a record, I’m part of the whole system my boy. You’re more free than I’ll ever be
Wtf
all my s*** is facts 🤥
https://twitter.com/adamkiwan/status/1803944612785979587this s*** funny as hell lmao

All beef with Kendrick aside, that 2nd verse on Family Matters where he completely s***s on Ross, Kendrick, Travis, Future, Metro and Rocky is f***ing hilarious
Family matters is still the hardest song Drake dropped in this s***
His best diss track ever easy
Wasn’t enough obv but it was cool seeing his final form

Nah I'm usually more of a rock or soul concert type of person over rap shows but nothing else I've seen touches Kanye performing by himself on the WTT tour with no backing track
Also Kendricks puts so much effort into making sure every line is delivered in a theatrical way that he has to be able to do it himself
That too. He just had his birthday and won the biggest beef in music history and was there to end gang wars. He's still the dude who cried when the west coast legends anointed him. Sensitive guy with a crazy poker face

That’s part of the reason why I like him as a person as much as I do a rapper. He feels things deeply and puts a lot of thought and heart into what he does. Having that deep understanding of himself was how he was able to tap into the darkest part of him we’ve ever seen on Meet The Grahams. I think Cole realized Kendrick would be able to take it to a place he couldn’t emotionally and that’s part of the reason he backed out. Drake completely lacked understanding when it came to that.

This is exactly what pissed him off. He previewed this song at the end of push ups, had it waiting, and then after it dropped Kendrick just immediately dropped Meet The Grahams.
After that he really didn't have s*** to work with
