A lot of Compton residents couldn’t make the show. Why would Kendrick make a song representing his neighborhood and then only use people that bought a $400 ticket?

It’s only unnecessary to yall cause you ain’t from his city. No one in his city thinks he is doing too much

Got nothing to do with not being from there, I would think the same about any artist doing it this late after everything already transpired.

It’s obviously a huge moment for the city, no doubting that, just feels like this video should’ve came before The Pop Out.

The Pop Out should’ve been the victory lap, that was an historic night

The problem is you think its still about the beef at this point. its not , its just a west coast anthem song now

It is, but it also still is a diss record. There’s no removing that context from it, every single verse is explicitly about that man

Not writing it off, nor am I saying the video won’t be great, just feel like it’s a little unnecessary at this point.

If The Pop Out never happened, then it would make more sense, but I think The Pop Out kind of satiated the need for a NLU music video

Long term nobody will care and the video will be a thing to go back to if it’s dope

  • As a huge Drake stan I want the overkill

S*** on my goat as long as you want Kendrick

    Is it not?

    It’s a bop lmao

It’s the most radio friendly track Kendrick has put out in ages

The hook is infectious, the beat is great, loads of quotes going at the person everyone hates and has a very radio friendly outro

Kendricks gonna win SOTY Grammy for NLU, just watch. NLU isn't just a diss it's a moment.

Next year, he’s taking home 6 Grammys, even without dropping the album. He'll get 3 in the rap category as well. (NLU, EUPHORIA, LIKE THAT)

He'll probably win MVOTY, SOTY, and Best Music Film (pop-out concert).

He might even score another Emmy for the pop-out concert. This is literally insane.

What a time to be alive

Bro respectfully you don’t get to make that call. That man had to plan an entire event with rival hoods. He also is working on an album. You also have to apply for permits and they take weeks sometime. Again no one from where he is from cares about this. That’s what should matter. This is their moment.

He’ll most definitely win Best Rap Song.

The Grammys would be extremely bold to give him Song or Record of the Year, but Taylor released this year so it’s unlikely to happen

The video will encapsulate the same feeling and will be 3 mins long, more people will go back to a music video than a concert video

Maybe, but not if the concert video was clipped up and turned into a Not Like Us music video. Look at Niggas in Paris

I’ve been firmly Team Kendrick this whole beef so don’t think this opinion is coming from a Drake stan, but at least the Family Matters music video was the debut of the song and it dropped during the height of the beef

It’s not that a Not Like Us video is doing too much in and of itself, it’s the when that it’s coming is what makes it feel unnecessary.

The Pop Out completely captured the essence of the song and the clips from that alone would’ve served as a great music video.

This video coming after that legendary performance and after Kendrick has already unanimously been declared the winner just feels a little bit like overkill at this point

i’m sure 15 years from now everyone is going to think about how he was doing too much instead of the video/song being ingrained in rap history!

    Taylor’s release was weak tho

Taylor has been winning Grammys off name alone for a decade now, they don’t care what she drops, if her name’s attached she’s winning something
