Not really, a lot of artists suffer from ‘fatigue’ when they’ve been dropping a lot. Drake is kind of immune to that because he’s been putting up numbers for like 15 years straight, but in general that is a thing. The anticipation and build up of hype when an artist is gone helps them do bigger numbers when they return.
Kendrick definitely waited too long with the five years though, so it’s a balance. You want to leave long enough for people to miss you, but not so long that they forget about you
