This album ain’t doing 200k.
Might be TikTok.
That’s the only thing about the culture that I can see has changed.
A lot of artists like James Blake have come out saying that it’s forcing creatives to make his that can be successful on that platform.
Which is scary to think about.
artists should just stop givinf AF about streaming and try to make money of touring because this game is f***ing rigged

After Hours debuted with 24.9M US streams and Dawn FM debuted with 22.09M US streams on Spotify. Why aren't they on the list?
Not y'all talking bout the damaging effects Tik tok having on the industry because Mr Toosie Slide flopping
But seriously it's not that deep just Drake dropped album with no promo and people aren't feeling it and it's a bit left field from him. The song they were seemingly going for as first single weirdly trash for Drake too
I guess the game has changed, numbers are just low in general. Jack's first week seems way more impressive now

Bad Bunny feasting
Only the real music thriving
I know but there's something deeper than that. It's not like artists aren't trying for hit. Why didnt the public give songs like Sacrifice and N95 a chance? Cooped Up would be a #1 hit in 2019 but I think people's taste changed after the pandemic. I can't explain it but I think we're going to see "hits" change. I was surprised a song like Wait For U charted as good as it did
Probably more than ever before, there's no "formula" for a hit anymore. It all boils down to what people connect with organically or what you can make go viral on TikTok.

im afraid the evidence confirms this...

You're a Weeknd stan but you magically didn't know to add his album numbers? I bet he had a great hold in day 2 as well but if you say so
