No
Him underperforming / overperforming is an entirely different convo my guy
How can you see the rollout for dark lane and Honestly nvm and see the rollout for scorpion or CLB and lump them all the same
Flagship isn’t a term that’s used for when he underperformed or whatever it literally is the case
I know, I’m saying label/Drake/Exec whoever is smart enough to know that if an album like this underperforms, they can always use the excuse “it’s not like other albums, x, y,z” “didn’t have a proper rollout”
And all of those are true, they definitely did factor into why this album sold less
But the reality is if this was successful in the public eyes we would not hear any of this. Execs know this. It’s just as much cope from them as fans.
That’s all
I just don’t see how you see CLB and then see dark lane or honestly and lump them all the same maybe I’m tripping
And I’m the one that called it a flop
You’re right to consider all the factors but THEY don’t want to listen to logic or reason when it doesn’t fit their “Drake is finally falling off” narrative

Fair for the most part
she’s massive, didn’t mean it in a condescending way. i just think it’s hard to compare artists who are dropping every 2-3 years with one who drops once every 5 years
Yeah, I mean 30 was some mid tbh compared to her previous albums so that 5 year wait was not it, don’t think she’s going to retain the top spot in the 2020s unless she comes with some heat soon
Fair for the most part
Yeah that’s what I was getting at but I think we were on the same page anyways for the most part
Honestly, I think Drake knew he would never sell 600K again so he dropped this so when his next rap album sells 350-400K, it’ll be seen as a W
I’m not “making” anything up bruh
CLB had f***ing billboards announcing features and a huge smash in rotation months before
That’s a fact
This dropped in a dance genre with 4 outs notice
If that’s the same to you then Nigga ok
“Making s*** up” I’m calling it how I see it

If you really think Drake cares that much about appearing to sell a lot then you haven’t been paying any attention and your opinion is worthless

So you think he dropped a double album followed by a 21 song album with 14 features just because?
I wonder how under-certified Drake is rn, and if this chart only includes what’s been certified

If they don’t have a story these days they’ll make one

Ok well when his next rap album sells 350K then you better be calling that an L

Nah lets relax, he def doing at least 400k on a traditional rap/rnb album. This album is an L tho for him.

Unless it has 30 songs on it, it’s not happening. Quote me later.

got their ass. Motherfukers were saying billboards were not rollout lol

Yeah, I think he makes a lot of great music and he wants to release it to the people. Take Care was a long ass album even before streaming took off like that. He’s said before that because he does so many different styles of music he ends up needing to include tracks that appeal to the different subsets of his fan base.
If he was really desperate for sales and certs like that he would’ve added like six more minutes to Scorpion (100+ minutes is considered a double album for RIAA certifications), he would’ve dropped it he price of DLDT and promoted it more once it was apparently it was going to be outsold by Chesney, and he would’ve done merch bundles for years and moved hundreds of thousands more units.
He has actively made decisions that show he’s not desperate for sales and yet everybody conveniently ignores those without fail.

I mean drake call it an album
It’s a flop. Very clearly a flop
I’m more so just saying how the rollout is clearly different from a ‘flagship’ ‘typical’ (whatever name you wanna give it) drake album and we should view it as such
This gotta be cap. How tf Miley Cyrus so high?
Actually how is she on this list?
