To you simpletons, here's why what I said was facts, as per:
1 - comeback albums always sell higher. You can't use it as an excuse when you are one of the biggest in the world
2 - CLB had no promo
3 - This is true but there's a couple of attempts at hits that failed. Still, it's his comeback album. No matter what he said people would tune in.
Quote for posterity
It has nothing to do with my enjoyment
Im saying it would help the numbers talk die down if he doesn't do good numbers.
If you truly beilieve that, Idk what to tell you
Drake stans are some of the weirdest music fans ive seen but the people that hate on Drake cause of said fans are equally as weird.

I don’t even know what you’re referring to
Who said CLB didn’t have promo?
I linked one of the pages ITT where this was discussed in my first reply lol
Last month when the topic was MMTBS vs CLB, Drake fans kept saying CLB didn’t have any rollout. Others said that it did in fact have a rollout, with an announcement far in advance, a trailer, billboards, merch, and many other things (DLDT/LNCL/feature run is all promo). But the Stans ITT kept saying that it had no promo because he announced the release date so shortly before release and none of the singles made the album lmao.
The point of their argument was that Drake could do 0 promo and outsell Kendrick. So they ignored, denied, and downplayed all the promo.

Yeah claiming CLB didn’t have a rollout or promo is wild as f*** lol
If Drake dropped a surprise RAP album with 21-24 songs he’d sell 500k+. He knows this, and decided to drop an album he’s been dying to make for years. It’s almost irrelevant to bring up the sales for this album, cause that was never the point. This album was, above all else, about the art.

That's basically what happened with CLB
over 200k with a house album? W
Lmao this is an L no matter how hard you try to spin it
We’re in the “CLB had no promo beforehand” portion of the narrative I see

In terms of release dates, yeah. We didn’t know until the week of. In terms of anticipation, CLB had years of Drake hyping it up and fans impatiently waiting. The buzz for an album is so important, and I personally always recommend artists do that over the “surprise” drop, unless its a surprise at you doing exactly what people like you doing, amplified. This is why Folklore and Beyonce (self titled) did so well. They were typical Swift and Beyonce albums that hit the core fans like a meteor and was beloved by casual listeners since casual listeners like their typical stuff too.
