Yes, he literally wasn't lol this isn't news to anyone except delusional drake haters

he was doing well & had a good career. but he was nowhere near as big as he was after that. the numbers literally show that

I swear even Durk said this himself

Dawg if you missed the no auto era and some of those loosies that were ringing off…. Like I said y’all be sleeping on niggas that’s popping until Drake work with them 😭

    A Mad Ass Nigga

Billboard doesn’t tell the whole story. There’s stuff buzzing that isn’t charting well. I can name a couple hits right now that isn’t topping the charts.

i dont think anyone ever said that drake caused bunnys ''buzz''. its literally been proven that drake was on his first real hit and he only went up after that co-sign

Most of the people playing it are probably using YT bro I’d imagine, again in Latin American communities not the average music streamer in America.

It’s the same way people on here look very ignorant saying YB isn’t huge cuz most of his stuff comes from fanbases that aren’t using streaming services

It’s disrespectful and short sited tbh to base your entire metric of popularity off Hot 100 because you just ignore huge ass communities of people that largely don’t use it as much.

Yeah I agree but that's what Drake brought to MIA, streams on AM/Spotify which counted towards Billboard. That's why it's silly to say the song woulda done as well without Drake

drake is on two of bad bunny’s top apple music songs???

Before Bad Bunny could perform well on Apple Music, he knew who to go to for that Apple Music stimulus

Like genuinely y’all look ignorant when you discredit artists for that

And on top of that you know how many old songs back in the day didn’t even chart or chart as high as you think.

Yes Hot 100 is good but stop using that as the be all end all, it’s largely skewed towards American audiences who use streaming. Aka white america. We keep telling y’all this man

I know this is a thinly veiled Drake appreciation thread but it’s only fair to treat it as a sales discussion thread. Bad Bunny’s sales are objectively impressive as hell. If y’all take giving the man his flowers as a Drake sub, that’s on you not us.

no one's arguing against that tho, there's songs like Butterfly Effect that peaked at like #40 yet is like the most streamed rap song ever, everyone knows that

The point is people in here saying MIA woulda done as well without Drake lol

  • Jun 26, 2022

its sad because drake and drake stans have love for bad bunny…

but haters want to make their false narratives and make us look bad, try to divide and conquer it’s really sad they can’t let go

They’re still delusional because they tried to talk Benito down before Drake dropped and flopped

Now they’re coming with new excuses to talk him down again but who cares. He’s going to do 100k+ for probably 12 weeks straight while HN will be out of the top 50

    drake's impact on todays music

bad bunny: first real hit with drake
durk: first mainstream hit with drake
cb: fell off until no guidance
giveon: didnt exist before chicago freestyle

Sure but there’s no argument that Drake’s overall sales performance in the streaming era is massively dominant over his sales performance prior to it.

Yes, it's not like he released 3 albums prior to the streaming era which did 447k, 613k and 658k respectively in their first weeks. It's not like he had already scored 13 top 10 hits prior to the streaming era lmao.

    @thegreatdivine is this true?

Drake has always been dominant. Don't mind that clown. He's doing the most to try to downplay Drake's career for nothing. I don't even know what his aim is at this point lmao.

I noticed this too. They only listen to artists in the Drake universe like Partynextdoor, Lil Baby (after Yes Indeed), The Weeknd, etc.

Them stans don’t really know what’s going on until Drake works with them. That’s why they usually have bad takes when it comes to hip hop.

Trying to talk him down by saying facts about how Drake gave him his first hit whilst you're being delusional trying to say we're "coping" by saying a literal fact?

you sound like trump, stop being so upset lol it's not that serious

Drake didn’t become the biggest he’s ever been in the streaming era? I’m just stating facts. How does that downplay him at all, Jesus.

How was he on if his single prior didn't debut in Hot 100 at all?

    someone please explain lol

Niggas trying to rewrite history lmao.

Bad Bunny was always gonna be big but he wasn't stupid for getting those Drake/Cardi features in 2018. Those were his first break into the US market. He needed that. Without those 2 hits, he doesn't get this big in the US this quickly.

Since we’ve established that pure sales don’t count anymore, Drake did 193K. Strong showing.
