If Drake had made 14 songs like Sticky where he's rapping over dance beats, that's even better because he's at least rapping, just doing so over different production but he's legit singing on like 90% of the album over production his fans don't care for and aren't familiar to hearing him sing over. Hell yeah, the album won't perform like his albums usually do. That's just simple logic.
If only you would make these excuses for every artist and stop baiting their fanbases when they sell less than Drake this site and thread would be a way better read

People got a dance album and only kept streaming the rap song. Cause that's what they were looking for, rap Drake. Myself included, it was a big disappointment.

I mean dance album is just the current excuse. Just like leak mixtape was for DLDT even though it was rap. Next time Drake will call his rap album a “musical journey” and y’all will say it’s not an album, it’s a musical journey and that’s why it didn’t sell well. If y’all would just own up to something one time without a host of excuses, everyone would happily move on.
DLDT actually had a good reason to not sell well though, HN doesn’t.

I didn't want the same. I wanted CLB on steroids, aka more energy and less autopilot Drake.
Drake's albums are always a mix of different styles anyway. But they are a mix, not an album full of the same thing which is what we got.
