Its a dance album stop exposing yourself. People want the same old rap s*** from drake and that jimmy song blowing up proves it

yall need to stop with the "people want the same old rap s*** from drake" when some of his first smash hits were songs like Best I Ever Had, Find Your Love, Marvins Room, HOWGH. The general public has always been open to Drake singing on songs.

Im not a Kendrick Stan and HN is probably top 3 Drake albums for me but im talking about his rap/rnb bag. He peaked years ago, it’s not even a debate

Posts like this are pathetic. At least, have the audacity to own up to your mindless hate and trolling.

Those are Pop songs tho not Dance

Pop and Rap been a dominating genre, not dance.

Drake did fall off musically, there’s no question about that. I’ve never even seen a Drake Stan pretend that Scorpion or CLB are anywhere near as good as TC, NWTS or IYRTITL.

He's still making better music than 95% of the mainstream rap game so what does that say?

What does it say about you that you're front and center at every single song a man you believe has fallen off releases? Why are you still checking for everything he drops?

coming from someone that thinks his last effort was pretty decent, "better" is really subjective, but his music really seems to be background music for the past 4-5 years. I haven't ran into many people that say Dake is dropping quality music.

It says that the mainstream rap game today is horrible.

Yeah maybe if you didnt mention singles and mentioned the verses on seeing green, bb king, 7am, lemon pepper, yol2, gold roses, war, champagne poetry etc etc etc.

It says a lot that they keep referencing songs like Girls Want Girls and Way 2 Sexy and using that as some massive sign that Drake has fallen off musically. They wish that was the case. That's why they're holding on to everything they can to validate those takes.

In reality, some of the best verses of Drake's career have been released in the last 5 years. Fans who are able to remove themselves from the nostalgia of his music from So Far Gone-IYRTITL are able to enjoy the new s*** he's been dropping and recognize that its just as good, if not even better. Imagine being a Hov fan and still feeling a need for 1996-2003 Hov to still be the same Hov you get today. Only dummies never give their favorite artists a chance to grow and evolve. They're the ones who find it hard to accept change.

Glad to see him having a good time. I'm actually enjoying his album a lot more now than I was when it first dropped.

To you. He doesn't need to keep trying to remake those albums to make great music and that's what some of you don't get.

nah that's my opinion too, most songs are so generic that they really only exist in the background.

nothing really thought provoking or interesting, but also nothing super offensive.

I’ve never seen someone say they prefer his recent output over those classics. It’s a fringe take if it even exists

It says that the mainstream rap game today is horrible.

So, what are you b****ing about? Fact is that Drake has been one of the best mainstream rappers since 2009. That's still true today, regardless of how you feel about his albums. He's still giving the game some of the best moments on features, songs and projects overall.

You might not think it's up to par with that you deem to be his best, but that doesn't mean it's bad or less than and that's what many of you who spew this rhetoric don't get.

You're prisoners of the moment. You'll latch to an album or a time period of an artist's career, deem that the best they've ever been and will ever be and instead of you to appreciate who they are and what they have to offer moving forward, you'll compare and contrast and play your self out of enjoying some good music. I'm glad I don't share that kind of mentality lol.

Except I can listen to those hundreds of albums from different artists from those eras over and over again. There is literally zero reason to waste time with mid.

They don't need to say that. That's the whole point. You believe he should be remaking those albums somehow but he doesn't care to. He's been there, done that. You love those albums so much? Go and play them. Let him make whatever he wants to make now.

As much as I love GKMC, I'm glad there isn't another Kendrick album I can point to that makes me feel the way that album does. TPAB was a sharp heel turn for me but he did what he felt he needed to do and that's all that matters. Even with MMATBS. I don't care much for that album and only play like 5 songs off it and yes, it did flop relative to what the expectations were going into it but if Kendrick likes it, I love it. That don't mean he can't return with something I absolutely love next time or the time after that. What I'm not doing, though, is holding him to a standard that demands he remake his older albums or make albums that give me the feeling those albums did. He doesn't need to do that for me or anyone else.
