The 2nd biggest music market in the world isn’t even bumping Drake or Bad Bunny. Flops

I love how you have to resort to being stupid to avoid answering my question
Drake is bigger than Bad Bunny in the US/UK/Canada/Australia. That's all he needs to be the bigger artist. Get it now?
Dummy acting like I'm saying Drake is the #1 artist in South Korea, China and Japan
He's not. But Bad Bunny ain't bigger than him in ANY of the countries in that list (which is my point), yet y'all claim he's the biggest artist in the world. How does that work? You question it and they'll call you a Bad Bunny hater lol.

Saucy Dog
You still haven't told me how you can be the biggest artist in the world without being the biggest artists in ANY of the top 10 biggest music markets lol.
This is gonna sound crazy to you, but what if I told you there was like 200 countries in the world. They all had smaller music markets, but when you added them up it turned into a bigger music market.
Spotify global and Apple Music count up the numbers so you don’t have to. Check it out.

Can't I also say Spotify/Apple Music are just two of the biggest streaming platforms out of the dozens out there?
IFPI takes into account all the streams/sales of every artist across multiple music markets and publishes a list of the top 10 most consumed artists globally. Where was Bad Bunny in 2020/2021?
The problem is y'all keep thinking free Spotify/YouTube streams make you the biggest artist in the world. Newsflash, they don't. This is why I keep bringing up the biggest music markets. It matters. In Latin countries, going Platinum means moving 60,000 units. In the US, that means moving 1 MILLION units. In the UK, that means moving 300,000 units. That's why Drake keeps outdoing Bad Bunny when the global numbers get tallied. He simply isn't bigger than him. Maybe one day, that happens, but it hasn't happened yet. That's all anyone is saying but y'all take it as an attack if anyone dares says Bad Bunny isn't the biggest artist in music history.
Bad Bunny’s blockbuster summer continues, as Un Verano Sin Ti logs a seventh non-consecutive week at #1 on the HITS Top 50—and hits a stunning new milestone. With 98k this week, the Rimas set surpasses Disney’s Encanto soundtrack for the biggest album of the year as it inches toward 2m units.
Benito with the biggest album of the year in the US after this week... Goat.
Bruh we tired

How many free streams = 1 album unit and and many paid streams = 1 album unit? I can’t find anything for their chart.
Also I think it brings up a discussion. Is an artist who sells a million album units through streams bigger than an artist who sell 1 million in pure sales? What’s your thought.

Did you forget? We have to pretend CLB, released less than a year ago, is no longer a recent era

I knew this day would come. It’s over big steppers. See you on the other side.

In July 2018, Billboard and Nielsen revised the ratios used for streaming equivalent album units to account for the relative value of streams on paid music services like Apple Music or Amazon Music Unlimited versus ad-supported music and video platforms such as Spotify's free tier and YouTube. Under the updated album equivalent ratios, 1,250 premium audio streams, 3,750 ad-supported streams, or 3,750 video streams are equal to one album unit.
It depends on how you wanna look at it. Still having pure sales power in the current climate is a treasure because pure sales is the fastest way to generate money through music sales.
Imagine releasing an album like Adele's 25, which did about 3.38M units in pure sales in it's first week in the US. If each album went for $10, that's about $33.8M generated from album sales in a single week (IN THE US). In comparison, Drake pulled over 8B streams in the US last year and that generated about $10-11M, so he'd need to pull about 25-26 BILLION US streams in a year to generate the money Adele's 25 generated in a week via album sales. With streaming, a lot less money is generated and it takes a lot more time to generate said money. With pure sales, the sky is the limit in terms of generating funds, that's why it's still the era in which the music industry was the strongest. Because of the spending habits of music listeners changing over the years, streaming had to be introduced but that's only so the industry could have something to survive on.
Yeah, that's why I prefaced by saying "it depends on how you wanna look at it." If you ask me, due to the decline of pure sales, I'd say it's a lot better to be a strong streaming artist in today's music climate because even the artists who still do relatively well in pure sales aren't nearly as strong as they used to be.
