I don't think Harry did mystery loot boxes or drop 8 versions of his single. Those inflated sales count towards IFPI so how can you not have a problem with it I think Dedication was right...
The bigger issue for me is that paid streams count way more than free streams tbh. Artists popular in developing countries don’t get the credit they deserve because most people there stream for free.
If Koreans wanna pre order millions of copies of k pop albums then good for them. Idc

You do realize the thread you're in.. (Billboard 200) does the same exact thing? Paid streams are worth way more than ad supported ones.

You do realize Billboard tracks sales in the USA only.(a developed country) where the majority of people have no problem paying subscriptions for virtually everything. And just because they do it here that doesn’t mean I agree with it.
People in places like Central America, South America, and Africa are mostly streaming for free.

Spotify currently has, according to eMarketer, 83.1 million users in the US, of which 44.7 million are paying subscribers
So bout half use the free version. Not even mentioning how many people use Youtube to stream music lol. Just seems you don't like the charts when they're not in your favor

Now imagine the ratio for developing countries.
I just don’t like when OP throws the IFPI chart in my face when I say Bad Bunny is the biggest artist in the world
Watch him be like 9th this year even tho his streams are astronomically higher than everyone else’s.

You said the majority of US pay for music, when they don't. You don't really care about flawed charts otherwise you wouldn't be posting Bunny stats in here every week lol

Yes they do. Combine paying Spotify customers with Apple Music subscribers/pure sales.

I’m over going around in circles mane. Both charts skew paid/free yet you only care about the one Bunny can’t touch 🤭
Rabid American Beyoncé stan buying every variation of Break My Soul
Vs.
Honest Bad Bunny fan streaming Me Porto Bonito for free in Columbia.
Same ppl b****ing about charts favoring physicals/paid streams in here are now championing mass buying
@ them
I guarantee you Beyonce has stream farms.
Cuz no one in real I know has even mentioned
The album let alone her name

Nah but I think Lil Baby and Drake do

Why is mass buying a bad thing? You're literally counting for each copy. If paid streams and ad streams were counted the same then we wouldn't need to argue about it
So we found out people will buy a dance album
So we found out people will buy boxsets with exclusive pictures of their favorite artist with the dance album*
there, fixed it for you ;-)
Let's see how much Beyonce would sell if she dropped a new album in 3 months time and dropped singles and features up until the release. Oh and remove the physicals too. What are we then looking at, 100-150K? Maybe even less, considering this album only sold 138K from streaming.
