There is absolutely nothing objective that makes streaming numbers worth more than physicals. Bey’s fanbase is older and much less likely (statistically) to use streaming as a means of music consumption. In the current era, artists with young fanbases will always have better streaming sales and artists with older fanbases will have better physical sales.

She jus received a 7th number 1 album and song in the country 19 years after her debut
Scored 180 million streams first week and is doing 90k this week .. which is on par with artists that debut 8 to 10 years after her

There’s a give and take.. restricting Lemonade/Self-Titled from most streaming services between 2014-2018 really harmed her ‘reach’ and exposure to the new generation coming into their own as consumers during that time (Gen Z).. sure there were immediate results (massive high pure sales), but it affected the longevity and overall health of the album/era.. she wanted to give it ‘legs’ ..instead of the era being a 1 and done within the first week of release
