Getting a Top 10 chart no longer means a hit in the streaming era, it’s just a flash in the pan. It’s all about staying in the Top 10 for weeks-months.

Most Consecutive Weeks in the Top 10
    1. Katy Perry (69)
    2. The Chainsmokers (61)
    3. Justin Bieber (59)
    4. Drake (51)

    Most Weeks Spent at #1
    1. Lil Nas X - Old Town Road (19)

Most Weeks Spent in Top 5
    1. The Weeknd - Blinding Lights (43)

Most Weeks Spent in Top 10
    1. The Weeknd - Blinding Lights (57)

charting for weeks carried by radio doesn't mean anything either. everything is relative to the era.

Album cuts couldn’t chart until 1998. Songs had to be commercially released as singles to be eligible. On top of that, the streaming era has completely changed the way music charts. Drake has certainly been dominating the streaming era but you can’t really compare the 1990s to the 2010s in that way.

Blinding Lights is the second most streamed song ever on Spotify and the fastest song to ever reach 2 billion streams, for example.

on global spotify. Meanwhile in the USA Life Is Good went diamond faster 🌚

Also BL would've went recurrent if it didn't have payola levels of radio.

Yeah idk what was up with that. I could be watching a video about World War II and then Life Is Good would auto play right after.

Not you being so pissed at Brandy missing

I've added her and a couple of other acts to the list that I originally missed.

I also had to edit out certain titles in the list because there's a 1,000 character limit on KTT2.

Streaming done created a monster. Such a cheat code that every song is pretty much a single because of streaming.

It's not a cheat code if only a select few artists have the pull to benefit from it. More than 95% of artists drop albums and have 0 songs debut on the Hot 100.

Which is why its a cheat code. Artists that are "smaller" than Drake don't have as big a fan base of his so of course he charts. Back in the days, people had to actually buy the singles for them to chart. Drake is such a big artist, he has everyone's ear and they'll give him a chance with his music. "Smaller" don't get that grace. "Fans"nowadays will listen to albums by Saba or Denzel Curry or whoever that is Drake or Future or Kendrick or Weekend only once. How can they chart? Streaming a cheat code. Not mad, its the game.
