Bad bunny having a 2015 2016 drake year

This was Post Malone in 2018/2019. Happy for Bad Bunny. Well deserved.

The single isn't really carrying the album tbh. Break My Soul is really only charting as high as it is right now because of radio.

In comparison, As It Was dropped 21 weeks ago and Wait for U dropped 17 weeks. Break My Soul dropped 10 weeks ago.

All the album has now to carry it are the vinyls that'll be dropping next month. That should offer some boost but 4-5 months from now, there's no certainty that the album won't be on its way out of the Billboard 200. Beyoncé's albums generally don't have a lot of longevity on the charts.

Of course, the perspective on this is that Beyoncè is 25 years into her music career but I think her fans are doing the most to exaggerate the success of this era (which isn't that surprising tbh).

We still don’t know exactly what she means with „3 acts“, but it’s heavily rumored that each act is a new album, people involved in the creating of Renaissance implied multiple albums. Do you really think with act 2 maybe in November/December, Grammys around the corner and another album in 2023 that it’s gonna drop off the charts entirely? Not to mention another single that could possibly perform well.

who cares if hip hop accepts him or not

It would be nice to see the media embrace him more considering he's the biggest rapper but I guess it doesn't matter as long as the culture is giving him his flowers now

A lot of rappers have acknowledged Bad Bunny and shown love to him.

Drake even canceled something with Beyoncé so that he could meet Bad Bunny.

He dropped one of the best albums of the year easily. Like I get if he is not for you but how the hell could you call it “mid” at all. Just say he is not for you, you did not listen to the album, or you are just trolling. What did you think was “mid” about the album?

Yes, I do. Her albums typically don't have longevity on the charts. And I didn't say it's drop off completely, but I can totally see it being on its way out of the charts. The same thing has been happening to J. Cole's recent albums. They chart for 60-70 weeks and then fall off.

No debate there, I'm speaking moreso about cultural significance and being the obvious top dawg with an album era. That was Ed Sheeran in 2017 as well. Everyone has their year when they run everyone else off the field, is really what I'm saying.

I did listen to the album and I was in the thread day it dropped

I thought it was mid 🤷‍♂️

If he says it's mid that's his opinion it's not that deep. Saying mid is a lot shorter and easier than going in detail to review why someone doesn't like an album

I don’t know. It just seems to me that if people don’t f*** with this, then we are never getting a Cole, Kendrick, Drake big 3 type rapper ever again in the mainstream. Like it’s over for that in hip hop.

Brevity is not a good defense for using a middle school level three letter troll term that has plagued music discourse in the last few years by replacing actual discussion

I mean JID just doesn't fit that role even if this album did better than it already has. He's 31 and on his 3rd album. People are looking towards younger new artists like Keem or Cordae for that but they probably can't make an album as good as this. They do have more personality which is what JID is missing
