Drake went from 1 milli in 2016 to 600k in 2021. Kendrick went from 600k in 2017 to 300k in 2022.
And even if your argument is "well Views and CLB had a 5 year gap", which is BS cause Drake gave fans an album inbetween

I really would like to see the budget albums/mixtapes in 2022 get
Like 2 Chainz album this year did 20K fw and had features from Lil Durk, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby and YB. How did it recoup? Did it recoup? why would label allow this to drop?

With the way the industry is. The only expense I see artists spending on is producer beats and even those they probably get on discount now. Features for the most part are free or swaps. They own their studios or the production label has an in-house studio and they pay engineers minimum wage💀. Even videos nowadays cheap af
As far as labels allowing flops to happen, they have to lol. They signed them ans already invested. Plus they could always write off the flops. Not to add labels survive off a minority of their artists that sell really well and now back catalog

At 2:11:00 he speaks about his song with Lil Wayne and Kodak Black, along with multiple other songs with Wayne. But he can't put them out commercially because label won't clear them. Even tho the artists did it out of respect
