Mind you, Coloring Book had multiple singles, music videos, had songs sent to radio and had songs off it performed at several late night TV shows/award shows. It also won the GRAMMY for Best Rap Album but it's a still regarded as a mixtape ONLY because Chance the Rapper called it that lol. That's the simple point one person in this thread can't seem to grasp. It's amazing, really. Several examples to break it down like you're talking to a 4 year old child and he still doesn't get it lmao.
It’s regarded as a mixtape ….. because it was specifically the last installment in his mixtape trilogy …..
Y’all can’t be this dumb

Coloring book even had it's own tour, something the big day never got lmao
I dont know , not really into YB , this man releases every other day
Big Sean put out I Decided in February 2017 and sold 150k. Then put out a mixtape in December and sold 50k.
If an artist calls a project a mixtape it doesn't sell as much 99% of the time.
This reason is mad superfical because the big day has the same makings as coloring book.
Even SFG and IYRTITL has the same makings as Drake's other studio album but there not
The Big Day didn’t exist when Coloring Book dropped

Because the entire world hated that album so they scrapped that tour
The Big Day didn’t exist when Coloring Book dropped
That's irrelevant if he followed the same pattern of release right after to create the big day but made the distinction this one is an album.
Big names, singles, videos, magazines promos, etc

That was a studio album, and it was a collab project with Metro so of course it sold less

Huh?

Collab albums with producers aren't real collab albums. No one considers Daytona a collab album with Pusha and Ye
They haven't reached peak desperation yet. That'll happen on Sunday. Just wait for it.
Tag me and @Wonderwall when it happens 🤭🤭🤭🤭

Double or Nothing is listed as “Big Sean & Metro Boomin” on streaming / iTunes / everywhere. Daytona is not.

Dude is just being a troll at this point. Nothing he's been saying for the last 12 hours makes any sense.
I’m glad this whole discussion is centered around More Life because it’s the only Drake project in the last 7 years worth mentioning

Bro, the point is that there's virtually no difference between what chance did with coloring book and what he did with the big day. It even won the category for best rap ALBUM at the grammy for a category he submitted it in for
More life isnt the structured like views. Views had a structure that resembled the seasons. While more life is a playlist format

I’m making perfect sense y’all just can’t think outside of what Drake labeled the project as.
I’ve acknowledged multiple times I’m aware that it’s officially a mixtape. But anyone with common sense can clearly hear that it’s not
If this moron watches box office numbers they're probably surprised that Rogue One made less money than Last Jedi and doesn't understand why
"They're both clearly Star Wars"

I think thats correct for small artists , not for big artists

Coloring Book couldn’t be like The Big Day because it didn’t exist when it dropped
There was no seasons concept on More Life but it was sonically the same exact album, with a little more UK influence

Give him 50 more examples and he'll still disagree
I gave him examples of the GOOD Music 7-track projects being marketed as albums when that's typically the number of songs on an EP and he ducked the post

Double or Nothing was a collab album.
And yes those Wyoming albums are technically albums, but I know plenty of people who view them as EPs because of how short they are
