You gotta respect the fact that Cole, Drake, and Kendrick have become this successful while collaborating almost exclusively with rappers/R&B singers at this point

We already know they’ve been flooded with requests to do songs with pop artists looking to cross over for the past decade now. They could’ve been making hits with flavor of the month pop acts and instead of going that route they mostly held it down and made their own hits.

For how much s*** we give them for not being great gatekeepers, they didn’t sell out the genre the way they really could’ve and I respect them for it.

Yeah Enough Said and Girls Need Love on that list is a huge reach. One is a posthumous single and the other was with a underground R&B act that only found success after she got the Drake stimulus. That's not the same as reaching out to Taylor Swift or Sia for a remix on a radio friendly pop song. Drake literally helped write Mine, Unthinkable, Work so he's helping them not asking for help like Kendrick does. It would be different if Kendrick was capable of writing hits like Radioactive
