Except they don’t want to listen to Saweetie, like you said they bumped tracked 1 and turned it off if it was good it would be in rotation all year
2k in sales is equal to how much in streams?
I don't think it's fair that you get to stream someone's music to see if it's good or not and the artists basically get nothing out of that transaction.
I mean,
The 2k number just goes to show you how many people don't understand how streaming works for sales.
I don't think people digest the fact that if someone streams your s***, that doesn't count for a sale unless they stream it x amount of times.
So like, yeah her numbers would have been bad regardless but artists are seriously getting hoe'd with these numbers because ppl can check out the album, the ep, etc. and move on to something else and it doesn't count for a sale.
She sucks and is annoying so in no way is this in defense of her it's just like...framing it as if she only 'sold' 2k copies when we know the amount of people who streamed her project is probably triple that is crazy.
🌚
See, this that s*** man.
Artists getting screwed. 1 stream counts for a percent of a sale?
how are they getting hoed? why would streaming it once count as a whole sale bffr.

Aight
Not a Saweetie fan at all but that s*** is seriously sad
warner putting her in artist development sounds cool on paper but that killed her hype
after best friend dropped there should’ve been an album

bout 1,500 song streams is an album sale
So if your album had 15 songs it takes 100 album listens to count as 1 sale
I have almost 300 album streams of Her Loss, so it's almost like I bought the album 3 times. And I'll be bumping it for years. She need to make music people want to hear
Aight
how much do you think streams should count?
right now for riaa its 1500 is one album
and bilboard is 1250 paid /3750free is one album

I have no idea
But I know most people's habits when it comes to listening are not to listen to an album 1500 times so that the artist can get one sale.
The idea that your fanbase has to listen to your project a combined 1500 times to get one sale, or 3,000 times for two sales is ridiculous.
Fans treat streaming the same way as if they'd buy a CD. The obvious difference is that the sale count isn't the same. It's flawed as hell and everyone, even the Drake's and Benito's of the world are suffering from it and album sale numbers will continue to go down as a result.

you have to remember that it’s first week. 100 listens first week? most people aren’t doing that
the point they’re making is that the sales aren’t reflective of the streams.
of course like before you could go out and buy the physical and it would count as a sale even if you never listen again but the 1500 metric makes it much more difficult for smaller artists

Yeah the system sucks for small artists. But dude smoking some crystal if he think Saweetie is an underpromoted artist or some indie act.

Yea but streaming gives people who wouldn't buy the music the ability to listen. Thats why its like that.

Now every time you listen it counts towards sales and people who wouldn't have bought it before can now contribute to sales. Also piracy had gone way down due to streaming.
Since like mid 2000s to present overall sales are about the same.

She had Best Friend and Back to the Streets and they did nothing smh
Lmao
Well it's a 6 song EP but besides that
I don't really see why homie is thinking a follower count should directly translate to sales. If that's the case even the bigger artists should be selling way more than they are.
Lmao
😭😭😭
Roddy still stuck in 2019/2020 and acts like he's the hottest thing out. Seeing him on Joe Budden podcast bragging about how much money he gets to play at festivals shows he's unable to be humble. His music flopping like crazy and he been acting like he's on a joint tour with Post Malone when he really just the opening act

What Roddy got on Post? I feel like he been bringing him on Tour for like the last 3

my post was in reference to their discussion about saweetie’s first week.
i do prefer the streaming era but maybe the number should be brought down to help smaller artists.
