What’s #6 this week?
Next up, The Weeknd’s The Highlights lifts 7-6 (39,000; down 2%).
I mean,
The 2k number just goes to show you how many people don't understand how streaming works for sales.
I don't think people digest the fact that if someone streams your s***, that doesn't count for a sale unless they stream it x amount of times.
So like, yeah her numbers would have been bad regardless but artists are seriously getting hoe'd with these numbers because ppl can check out the album, the ep, etc. and move on to something else and it doesn't count for a sale.
She sucks and is annoying so in no way is this in defense of her it's just like...framing it as if she only 'sold' 2k copies when we know the amount of people who streamed her project is probably triple that is crazy.
You're looking at it wrong. Being able to frame it as selling X amount of copies is coping mechanism actual copies sold being so low. Saweetie prob actually sold 50 copies so having ppl that streamed it now being able to say she sold 2k actually makes it look better

would roddy be this tuesday?
Dropped same day as Rod Wave I think. Idk a single soul who bumped it so not 100%. Thought it was landing in top 10

Perhaps
It may have been actually worse if ppl’s only way of listening to her music was by buying it
Nevertheless, the sentiment I’m getting at is that what the number ‘means’ is far more important than the sensationalized ‘2k’ figure
Can they make a separate Christmas or Holiday songs chart? Every year now it’s like this since streaming got popular. We get it, Christmas music is the most popular music around Christmas. I want to know what other songs are popular.

MUSIC!
