KeeBro like I never understood that comparison at all.
They might have similar lyrics, but their trajectories as artists are completely different from one another.
Plus SZA is more innovative than Summer and tries different sounds meanwhile Summer is more just a extension of like the "OVO/Trapsoul" wave.
Yeah even Summer’s highest charted song on her last album is the one with SZA on it. SZA more diverse, in testing out new sounds with her bodies of work. That and her lyrics in a sense seems to reach different demographics, Summer seems more safe in her vibe R&B lane. It’s cool though Im a bigger fan of SZA but I enjoy both musically

The narrative was that Scorpion was a big numbers decline from Views despite the massive hits and that Kendrick was on the rise. Drake did 750K and Kendrick did 650K the year earlier and would outdo him next time around

JTBarrettIVSZA 5 year hiatus was different than Kendrick’s though. she was still dropping singles, features, the Ctrl Deluxe, and just generally more active on social platforms. Kendrick was ghost ghost besides the Baby Keem features. and MMBS had no singles or and frankly not enough time to ratchet up the hype after the announcement. all that being said I think Kendrick sold well and SZA is overachieving and i love that for her.
