Fan insanity or not, there’s no way to downplay how big of a deal it is for an artist to get 100k people to spend $10 on one album when they can spend $10 on access to all the music ever made
But your last sentence (kind of a separate topic) touches on a good point: the context for streaming and buying an album aren’t remotely the same
