They never learn. If you want to remain successful in the streaming era, you need to keep new music flowing and it doesn't always have to be in the form of new albums. It can be features here and there, EPs, singles, but just drop something to keep your fanbase fed.

Going dark on a fanbase that's ever-hungry for new music is never a good idea. This especially applies for established artists who intend on still having careers in this climate.

Also see the two Lil Baby albums in the top 20. Crazy longevity for My Turn (something we don't talk about enough) and even It's Only Me (which was generally seen as a disappointment (commercially and otherwise), is holding pretty well.

I do get it it’s for mental reasons but if it isn’t that you gotta at least drop singles constantly to keep your fans fed these days, only ppl that can take long breaks and still do crazy numbers now is adele and that MIGHT be it

I hope there can be more country stars. Luke Combs streams well (his albums chart really well and serve longevity/stability on the Billboard 200) but Morgan is a different monster. I hope this Bailey Zimmerman dude who just scored his first Hot 100 top 10 hit becomes another country star. Haven't listened to any of his music but his debut album drops soon and dude is young. He's just 23.

The truth is that most artists are just lazy. Many of them have money now and they're super comfortable and so they don't see the value in still pushing their craft the way they used to when they were still on the come up.

One of the reasons why I have a lot of respect for Drake and Taylor Swift especially is that they're two of the richest musicians out there. Them two really don't need to be making/releasing music the way they do but they're insistent on being prolific and after all they've achieved, you have to respect that and because they keep feeding their fan bases, they keep getting rewarded by them. They were the biggest artists of the 2010s and their work ethic is why they'll be the biggest artists of the 2020s.

I think Bailey Zimmerman will definitely be a star. his rise from a total nobody to hyped country singer to now a top 10 hit isnt really like many artists we've saw before. dont think his talent is anything crazy but hes the right artist at the right time for the scene imo. lot of appeal to the younger crowd

also wonder if he'll be the first of many Wallen clones to pop up and achieve success. (hes not a full clone but still the influence is super clear)

I'll have to give his music a listen first but yeah, if he plays his cards right, no reason why he can't have a Morgan Wallen-like trajectory, even if it's on a smaller level.

there's another young guy called Dylan Marlowe who i've seen a lot people super into the country scene as a next big star. seems like he is basically where Bailey Zimmerman was a year ago. only heard a little but of his stuff but can see the nashville machine pushing him
