What is interesting is you definitely hear labels boasting about it or tracking it closely as one of the numbers they care about most
I think that it’s cared a lot about by artists and labels because it’s one the most easily accessible stats to see for the average Spotify user regarding artist’s popularity.

that is an underrated part of why artists put the most effort into promoting Spotify. It is mostly because it's the biggest one but it's also because they don't want to be embarassed by Spotify making everyone's stats public lol

I’m not comparing Drake and Kendrick
I haven’t really listen to that Drake album but I’m sure 90% of the album is something the hoes would play at a party
Kendrick is talking about black trauma, racism, homophobia, etc
It’s not the same, people aren’t replaying United in Grief and Mother I Sober and Aunties Diaries like that
I’m pretty sure a large amount of people is like wtf is this
Y’all like to create these scenarios but leave out tons of detail

Tweets like this always make me laugh because it shows how much Kendrick fans love numbers and want to use that as a claim to greatness for him but when Drake's numbers get put up, they switch to critical acclaim because they know Kendrick doesn't come close lol.
