The reason I’m asking these questions is because everyone in this thread (pretty much the Drake section took it over) is saying this album is a flop when Kendrick is doing the same if not better than any rapper but Drake right now which makes absolutely no sense but Drake Stans are getting a hard on from it.

We not giving out participation trophies

That 600k had 350k physicals. Now no physicals at all fam...

That's why his fans should have streamed the album more to make up for the loss not having physicals would bring.

Insecurity because their guys music isn’t as good so they have to hammer on anything they can. 320k for a therapy album with no promo is a massive W.

being number two is just being the first to lose

I do not see how this an L. considering Kendrick did not drop a physical. He currently on pace for this album to be out-stream DAMN. first week
DAMN was able to give Kendrick 250k in sales
MM&TBS is at least at the moment predicted to give kendrick 285k in sales.
    114% higher than DAMN.

    Its not an L.

And noone drops physicals first week anymore since Oct 2020. Streaming is the main form of consumption now. Obviously streaming won't make up the entire gap, but if it's a "W" it's not going to be this big a difference.

See above post. Noone has physicals anymore. A drop is expected. a "W" would be a smaller drop though.

Again it's not an L either, it's just "okay"

Isn't Kendrick like 3rd place in rap then?

Based on what, your opinion stated as fact?

    Weeknd going 444K to 148K
    Wayne going 480K to 139K
    Juice going 497K to 119K

General consensus is these are L's. These are very big drops. 25-35% of previous album. Based on this, safe to say anything less than half of previous is an L.

    Drake went 732K to 613K
    Eminem went 434K to 279K
    J Cole went 397K to 282K

These drops are seen as standard with the decline of the sales in general + rule changes, moreover a W. 65-85% of previous sales.

Kendrick is somewhere in the middle, Predicted to do about 50% of his previous album sales. It's a big drop, but not enough to be an L.

Additonally, his position commercially has changed as well. Before he was in the 500K+ category which was just him, Drake and Travis - now he's in the 250-350K with Cole, Bad Bunny and Kanye.

Yeah but even still JIK (Oct 2019) sold more than his 2018 solo, Ye

Compare that to Wayne and Em who are artists of similar caliber who saw dips from their 2018 albums to their Jan 2020 albums (especially Wayne, Eminem's dip wasn't huge)

Kanye might be the only rapper from 2018+ who seen an increase in their sales. Yes, he also has significantly more tracks on his album, but still

By doing this, they’re setting themselves up for the biggest L of all time when Drake’s next album sells less than 600K, which it almost certainly will, between new billboard rules and lack of Donda vs. CLB stimulus. They’ll just end up calling it a playlist though when it happens because delusion knows no bounds.

I'd imagine it sold 1M by now, just not certified.

It was at 500K sold 3 months after release -
