If travis didn’t bundle his pure sales would be 5-10k and thats facts. This man was so desperate the vinyls and cds shipping don’t have meltdown on it. But he needed to have something ready to ship and sell. 5 different covers
funny guy
Who won artist of the decade?
Taylor this decade for sure
Who won artist of the decade?
Taylor debuted in 2006, Drake in 2010. Is this a setup or are Drake fans really just ed?

Fearless, which dropped in 2008 is her only certified diamond album.
Thanks for answering my question
Idc about numbers but I’m actually glad Trav bundles with merch. A big part of his cultural foot print is what he’s done with Jordan brand and in hype culture (the good and bad that comes with it). It doesn’t mean much in terms of music culture or maybe musical impact, but it’s a big part of his appeal as a creative so to me it’s a no brainer to bundle with merch. Why wouldn’t he? You know what I mean? It’s a big part of his enterprise.
It would actually be moronic specifically for him not to do it.

Billboard wasn't equating certifications they were going off billboard stats which are constant and don't need to wait to be updated by lazy labels so it's a better measurement of who is more successful.
drake stans are bots. they dont have opinions. they have stats
What they said was all factual tho wether you think donda a better album or not (which I do) the fact is the general public liked CLB more
do y’all think there could be a barbenheimer event in music
i think music fans are way too aggressive for that to happen imo

wym by that?

people were pretty genuinely excited for both films and wanted them to do good and everyone accepted oppenheimer wouldn’t top barbs
people get a lot more competitive over music and kind’ve off in their corners so if 2 A listers dropped the same day folks would take fun out of it

No music Fandom doesn't crossover the same way

if kanye sold yeezys with TLOP or Donda he’d do a milli first week

Maybe only if artists from same genre w same fanbase

No cause music listeners are too divided by social demographics for everyone to rally around a single event

Crazy you say that because I was just thinking earlier to myself how dope it would be if there was a Barbenheimer type thing for two huge music album releases.
It would have to be two artists whose fanbases don’t totally cross over, and are both dropping albums that were long awaited and highly anticipated.
Something like Taylor and Travis dropping an album on the same day, or some combination along those lines.
Would be great for the music industry but I don’t think it would happen anytime soon because 1.) artists’ egos are too big to sabotage their own first week numbers like that, and 2.) stan culture is too rabid and antagonistic to truly support the other side’s album release
Maybe only if artists from same genre w same fanbase
That would encourage competition I think. The reason why Barbenheimer worked so well is because the two films and their audiences were polar opposites. If it were two musicians it would have to be opposite sides of the audience spectrum so that both could co-exist on the same release day

DONDA and CLB
Taylor this decade for sure
Morgan might be the next AOTD... if he stays doing numbers like this for at least one more album
He's also doing big touring numbers which counts for AOTD

JB's Purpose and 1D's Made in the AM dropped on the same day in 2015 (because it was the only week left before Adele's 25)

Drake did own the 2010s but you’re moving the goalposts. You initially said that all these people (Bad Bunny, Post, etc) are not taking Drake’s sales throne yet currently Taylor is actually the one in it.
