Spotify just revealed that 25% of streams are coming from hip hop so it’s still the most listened to genre but it’s just not the main cultural zeitgeist like it was in 2016-2020
I think the demand is still there for another hiphop megastar, these new niggas just suck lol

That's almost 4M units. Nothing from the album has been certified. Not to mention songs like Knife Talk, Way 2 Sexy and other album tracks that have moved upwards of 500k-1M units by now and then there's Her Loss which is eligible for Platinum certification and songs like Rich Flex, Spin Bout U and Circo Loco which have all moved millions of units. Not to mention songs like Money in the Grave, Laugh Now Cry Later, What's Next, Wants and Needs, Search & Rescue, etc which also haven't been certified. There's also features.
Drake is massively under-certified across his entire discography.

Yea. Drake doesn't update often and he never updates everything. He would have so many gold plaques if he updated everything like some artists do. I think he just doesn't want them 🤣

He's due for a massive update. Might happen around when his next album drops.

Album will cross 4M units by the end of this year. That's 4M in 2 years. According to KTT, that's a flop.

Best thing for him will be to do a mass release of physicals of all the projects across his discography at once so fans have the chance to cop whatever they want.
Imagine clowning an artist discounting physicals for their fans. More artists should do stuff like that.

right lol nigga 5 dollars for a vinyl I bought it off the strength

Exactly. Few years removed from a pandemic and about to enter another recession and people laughing at artists putting discounts on things like concert tickets and physical album copies, make that make sense

Nigga, please. Stop trying to paint this as some sort of selfless act on Travis' part. This is solely being done to keep his album stable, especially since there are zero hits off the thing.
I'd clown Taylor Swift if she did this same thing so no, I'm not clowning Travis because I hate him.
Outside of that, this is a terrible business move. Vinyls are now more expensive to make than ever and he'll have to pay the label back for producing the physicals for him regardless. In addition to that, the label makes 0 money from the vinyls outside of the cost of production (money from the vinyl sales) and neither does Travis and since that's his decision to make, he'll still have to pay them back what they were meant to make as a profit from the sales of the vinyls regardless. All that s*** is coming from whatever money his music generates.
All of that just so it doesn't seem like his album isn't a massive success lol.

Even if that’s the reason, fans are still winning by being able to purchase a physical copy for a ridiculously discounted price. Think about all the fans who can’t afford to pay $60+ for a vinyl after shipping fees and taxes.
Travis gets more sales and the fans get physicals for a steal of a price, it’s a win-win.
We can’t complain about prices as consumers and then clown artists for discounting things for their fans. Clown behavior.
