I wish one of the biggest music forums cared more about the quality of music than f***ing sales.
We all care about the quality of an album (and in this case the lack thereof). The quality has been discussed in the thread made for that topic. This is a sales thread. Why are people acting like there isn't room or time for both.

It's always been funny to me that people on here believe that caring about the quality of an album and caring about it's commercial performance (something we really only do for mainstream acts on this site) are mutually exclusive.
Why should we only care about critical acclaim for an artist who is established mainstream act and is also a commercial force? How does that make sense? Kendrick isn't some indie act who has never charted on the Hot 100 or the Billboard 200 before. To not care about the performance of the music he releases would be disingenuous and it's downright stupid to try to shame people for caring about numbers, as that's always been a part of music discussions as well as being a valid way to guage public interest.
He's saying "right now" like the Drake stimulus hasn't been a thing since 2009 lmao.

Spot on.
The listeners have voted. They rather lyrics they can’t even understand than understand Kendrick

Kendrick has the critical acclaim that Drake doesn’t. Him being successful with album sales is just a bonus. Second biggest selling rapper and by far the most critically acclaimed

Critical acclaim means nothing. Critics are human beings, just like us. Critical acclaim can be bought by labels; our voices can't. We stream songs because WE LOVE them and enjoy listening to them. That is why numbers in the end are the only objective measurement to see what kind of songs and albums the people actually rate highly.
