Delusional. Like why are you people like this lmao. When has cole ever been close? Never. So why even assume this

He did 282k with a 12 track album and there's insane hype for his new project. He's definitely gonna come close

ARE YOU STUPID???????? Future, JAY Z, 21 Savage, Giveon, Young Thug, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Travis scott, Lil wayne, rick ross, KID CUDI????

SZA and Bad Bunny are way more valuable features.

if you listen to Future, Baby, Thug, 21 and Durk there's a high possibility you were already going to listen to Drake's album. The same can't be said for SZA and Bad Bunny fans.

It's the same reason why Travis' monthly listeners hit a peak after the Bad Bunny song, all his fans who would never click on a Travis song tuned in.

Considering his dominance in the early 2010s that collab tape flopped + he has put outa decent amount of loosies that have all done meh

Not seen anyone hype for a new Bruno album. He has never been the type of artist that people are super excited for new music from. He's a hit artist, like the weeknd, people just don't wanna face that w/ the weeknd yet

He's about to perform 7 nights at the Tokyo Dome, first time since MJ and the Rolling Stones in the 90s. He just did a concert for 70k people in Georgia, a tiny country near Russia, last week. Also, a bunch of stadium concerts in Chile, Australia, South Korea, etc in the last months, and was the headliner of a festival in Brazil for a crowd with 100k people in September

All of this without any new album or tour, just random concerts

The only loosie he dropped was Please Me in 2019 and that peaked at #3

I still think you are just comparing Bruno Mars to the Weeknd cause they look alike lol

Not really similar careers at all

I mostly compare them cos their album sales are pretty similar, they aren't artists that do insane first weeks, they're artists that put out hits that do super well over time

This is so unimportant its insane. Lol. The CLB features 100% helped more than the FATD features.

Yeah that's great. Touring is completely separate though and not indicative of an artist's current popularity

otherwise we'd be saying U2 and Coldplay are currently more popular than SZA and Morgan Wallen

    He’s absolutely not…

Worldwide is way different than USA

It’s Drake man. He ain’t done Europe/Oceania in 6 years. He would definitely sellout a stadium. Man did 6 nights in a row at the O2 in 2017 lmfao

The week prior to More Life’s release, there were a total of zero songs from Views currently charting on the Hot 100.

The week prior to Dawn FM’s release, Save Your Tears was still at #18, and Blinding Lights, although it wasn’t currently still on the chart, had just broke the record for most weeks in the Top 5, Top 10, and most overall weeks on the Hot 100 in the chart’s history.

Save Your Tears placed #2 on the Year-End Chart for 2021, and Blinding Lights was at #3. And then, Save Your Tears ended up coming in at #40 on the Year-End Chart for 2022, two entire years after that album released.

For comparison, One Dance did not chart at all on the Year-End Chart for 2017.

People were still enjoying After Hours enough by January 2022 that there wasn’t a clamor for a new Weeknd album

They were promoted more, but the names on For All The Dogs are bigger.

SZA, Bad Bunny, and Cole dropping an album in 2023 are all clearing 250K easily.

The only artist on CLB that would clear 250K+ in 2021 is Travis

Views sold 48k the week before ML came out

After Hours sold 16k the week 4 weeks before Dawn FM came out

bit rough to compare tbh since most people didn't stream Views, they bought it and then listened on itunes, whilst everyone streamed AH and streaming = better for hot 100. But Views was still huge at the time ML came out

Hardcore fans are the people that get you first week sales anyway, and the hardcore fans aren't the people still listening to Save Your Tears on repeat after 2 years, they're the casuals that are listening to playlists on repeat

For whatever reason The Weeknd just doesn't have many hardcore fans. He has as many as Summer Walker and less than SZA which just shows something's wrong

KTT always trying to downplay The Weeknd's success for some reason 😭

It's probably because he didn't settle with being only a Drake-adjacent act making music for a specific crowd and instead became a massive global popstar

And we know people here have a vendetta against pop music ("mall music", "soccer mom music", etc)

His song being constantly popular for years is because of "casuals that are listening to playlists" not because it's a smash hits and one of the biggest songs of the decade so far

Drake's current public image is embarrassing, especially with his lyrics, and it's turning some people off. He's not "cool". I mean, wtf is this

I agree his current public image is embarrassing but this is a good picture

Probably cause he fits more into the pop mold of stars than the rapper mold this site loves

Smaller first week debuts with longevity and hits vs. high debuts with plummeting off the charts and short lived hits

It’s all relative. For Drake, 420K off 23 songs and high profile features is not great

You saying Drake needs feature to get high streams

The same people that were gonna listen to the album irregardless of any feature were Always gonna be the same

This is just blatantly untrue man, Weeknd has way more hardcore fans than damn Summer Walker. You can’t base everything on raw first week numbers, especially for artists of different genres

Exactly. I remember until 2019 this site was so damn positive on The Weeknd.

Then he became a global superstar in 2020 and now everyday on this site someone else is trying to diminish his success. S*** is so weird.

    THANK YOU.

That is the difference between pop music and rap music nowadays.

Pop artists tend to have smaller first week numbers with much better longevity, and rap artists tend to have huge first week numbers but very short lived chart success.

Obviously there are exceptions in both groups, but some people on this site don’t seem to grasp that difference

Lmao that's what bayou clearly insinuated. 23 songs with no features woulda sold the same
