I literally posted this yesterday mate. I used to post UK charts and talk about sales from all over the world some years ago but I was always told to shut up about that cuz no one cares about the sales from outside of the US. So guess what. I decided to play by KTT rules.

This is true but doesnt make sense cause bad bunny doesnt make english music

Agree but the same can be said about Drake. Drake doesn't make spanish music so he cant connect to the Latin market which is huge.

I don't mind taking this into account but 95% of the KTT users never wanted to do that in the past. They only started doing it when they could use it against a certain someone which is why I find it hilarious

In the last few days, we learned that:

    • Success outside the US is irrelevant because all non-Americans are NPCs... for not listening enough Drake
    • Physical albums and vinyls are gimmicks
    • Adele is a fraud... because she sells a lot of physical albums (see point above)
    • Touring is irrelevant and not a good way to measure an artist's popularity (because "irrelevant" acts like Coldplay have sold out tours)

    Anything else?

damn how can u make 4 points and miss on them all?

1 - KTT used to say Drake's chart performances outside of the US didn't matter. So yall started this. Must suck that it now bites ya in the ass

2 - ppl only say that about bundles. and they are right. charts are supposed to tell u who has been consumed the most. selling bundles with clothing or lollipops like ur fave did doesnt show that

3 - literally no one said that

4 - It's All A Blur will be the highest grossing rap tour of all time

    1. We’re talking about an artist who literally does not make music in English, of course global performance would be important when discussing his sales.

    2. Wrong, multiple people ITT said that physicals by themselves were gimmicks. Charts are not about what has been consumed the most, charts just reflect what has sold the most. Two different metrics.

    3. @mangotflu said this.

    4. Y’all are quick to hype up Drake’s tour numbers but when we make the argument that Weeknd is just as big because he’s on a sold out global stadium tour, y’all claim it’s because he’s irrelevant and people are “only going to hear the old hits”

Bad bunny didn't break records again because there are no hits on the album. Un verana had like 10 hits.

According to TGD posting Global Numbers is “damage control”

If Dawn FM performed as well as Republic thought it would in the US (which is the Weeknd's biggest market btw), they wouldn't have rushed to brag about Global numbers lmao. Go cry about it some more.

Would drake sell more with a collab album?

The kids are just extremely powerful. Thats why it doesnt make sense to tell Drake what to make. He knows what to make, thats why he been on top for the last 14 years

Using strictly sales, Eminem has been "on top" for longer than that.

In fact, Em is 24 years in and Curtain Calls is still one of the best selling albums of the last 2 years and MTBMB has a song with a billion streams.

Says nothing about consistency or quality though.

Relying on the kids so much hurts in the long run since trendy rappers and sounds come and go so quickly nowadays

Also theirs gonna be a point where Drake is looked at as the old guy trying to stay relevant with the kids, which is starting to happen now

It's okay to appeal to the kids as long as there's consistency. If Drake's future albums become more like CLB/FATD, he'll wound up having a bigger downfall than Eminem consistency wise.

And Eminem is still the main "Numbers guy" in hip hop even 20+ years in. MTBMB was still the best selling rap album worldwide in 2020 and Curtain Calls is one of the best selling rap albums of the last 2 years.

If you're going to strictly use "dA nUmBeRs" to claim that someone is the GOAT, then Drake still doesn't really have a real case over Eminem who's sold way more albums than him and is still a streaming Giant on Spotify and Youtube alike 24 years in.

    This happened this year.

    southpawers.com/2023/03/13/eminem-overtakes-drake-on-spotify

And Em ain't even in my top 5 but the numbers don't lie.

I’m both fan of Drake and weeknd but the weeknd is globally a bigger artist than Drake this is a known fact and only people denying this are the ones who are living in the USA. I will actually go that far that even in the USA the weeknd has more longevity than Drake and his hits are way more organic. They both make good music but the weeknd his music ages way better and that’s also a fact.
