it's an interesting discussion. I think he could with more proper rollouts and marketing. make his fans care about nocta. make them care about vinyl. they may be impervious to that though. my two very close friends are very very large drake fans. one didnt go to his tour, the other found a free ticket. for whatever reason, a segment of his fan base is very price sensitive lol. they do not care about the extra curriculars at all.

I think it’s partly a reason in why he has more overall fans than anybody else, because he has the largest number of casual fans in his fanbase. Like no matter who you know and what type of music they listen to, I guarantee there’s a good handful of Drake songs that they enjoy and maybe even a project or two. His music is just so ubiquitous at this point, but that also means he doesn’t have the same rabid fans as someone like Taylor does

There’s two types of support though. Active support and passive support.

Drake definitely has fans who actively support him by buying physicals, going to shows, and wearing merch. I’m not saying that doesn’t exist. What I’m saying is that population of Drake fans don’t make up the majority of Drake’s fanbase in the same way that the population of active Taylor Swift supporters make up the majority of Taylor Swift’s fanbase.

Take away entire formats and methods of listening to music and she sells less!
