I'm outdated as hell because I still think radio should be factored. Folks still turn on the radio no matter how people try to say it's nonexistent now.
Taylor Swift has a million songs what's the surprise at the AM thing.
Drake stans dismissed Spotify numbers when Utopia and some Taylor re-releases outstreamed FATD on there. Now that Taylor took over AM, they're headed in the "it's all a conspiracy" zone

I wish this forum had that muting capability that Twitter does so I never have to see a post with the words "Drake stans"in it again. Lol
it was supposed to be him

The same reason why YB is on year end stream lists with no hits.
Catalog adds up.
That's different. That's for the US and that's taking multiple platforms into account. This is strictly for the Apple Music Global chart. That's one chart on one platform and you can't be crowned the #1 global artist on that platform when other artists dominated the year with more songs that ranked higher than most of your songs.
The fact that they couldn't even throw out a streaming figure in their press release and instead chose to settle with using something as fishy as "Taylor Swift charted 65 songs on our Global chart this year and since that's more than any other artist did, she's the #1 artist of the year" says it all lol.
Swift was the most listened-to artist by Apple Music subscribers, simultaneously setting a new all-time record for the most listeners for any artist in a single year on Apple Music. Bad Bunny was last year’s Artist of the Year. “In the first 10 months of 2023, she saw 65 songs reach Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 — more than any other artist,” said the service in a press release.
Massive cap by Apple Music and a very silly way to give out the Artist of the Year award imo. They claim Taylor Swift was the most-listened artist on their platform in 2023 but only 7 of her songs made their list of the top 100 most streamed songs Globally for the year and most of those 7 songs are ranked in the bottom-half of the list. Make it make sense, man lol.
Here’s your answer: “she saw 65 songs reach Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 — more than any other artist”
This means her album tracks are doing much bigger than other artists,
It made the difference up even if it means those songs aren’t enough to make it into year end charts.

She didn't take over Apple Music, though, that's the thing lmao. Morgan Wallen dominated Apple Music with his songs from when his albums dropped and For All the Dogs has dominated since it dropped back in October lol.
i've been saying AM is cooking their numbers for ages

so they're just lying to push a pro-Taylor agenda or what

No, that's still cap lol. Apple Music's charts are rolling charts, so a song can make it to the top 100 of their global or US chart and then fall out of the chart entirely after a day. She only charted that many songs in the first place because she dropped 3 albums from October 2022 to October 2023 but her songs weren't at all dominant on Apple Music's charts. I should know, I check those charts almost everyday. Songs from Morgan Wallen's last two albums dominated for most of the year and then other artists like Drake/Lil Baby dominated as well.
If she truly dominated, why couldn't they put a figure on it?
so they're just lying to push a pro-Taylor agenda or what
I don't wanna say that but it's very telling that they didn't reveal any streaming totals even with their press release. Bad Bunny being the #1 artist on Apple Music last year was a no-brainer because Un Verano Sin Ti dominated the year like crazy. That album was all over the Apple Music charts throughout the year. That's not the case for Taylor's songs.
She didn't take over Apple Music, though, that's the thing lmao. Morgan Wallen dominated Apple Music with his songs from when his albums dropped and For All the Dogs has dominated since it dropped back in October lol.
Taylor has 5 albums in the AM top 50
Drake has 2
Morgan has 1
" i should know, i check those charts almost everyday"
Imagine doing that man lmao

This ain't the serve you think it is. It takes less time to check those charts than it does to go through 3 pages of any thread on this site lmao.

You’re only looking at the US am charts when it’s worldwide were talking about here. we know that the US has a weird divide between country/rap audience being huge on AM while pop listeners on are mostly Spotify so she is doing way worse on us AM but much better rest of the world - even if it means all 199 countries combined has a market size the similar to the US.
So her album tracks being high in the Netherlands or something added up ultimately.

Even if that's true what do you gain from it? No troll but do you get enjoyment out of it?

People have different interests man. I never got users tryna clown others for being active in this thread or following it particularly closely. Its all part of the game.

That's a non-factor when a top 20 album on US Apple Music can have only 1 song charting at #187 on the songs chart and if you understood how the actual stream breakdown is, you'd know that a song that's ranked at #175 on US Apple Music is pulling in less than 200k US streams so songs ranked outside the top 200 are pulling in negligible streams. How can an artist who has 35-40 songs ranked in the top 150 for most of the year not be ranked as the #1 act of the year? Especially when they also have the #1 song of the year? It doesn't add up at all and it's something that can't be thoroughly scrutinized because Apple Music don't ever release any streaming figures. It's whatever, though.

There's not much wrong with following the charts. But checking it EVERYDAY is an obsession. They tell you the stats at the end of the week man

The US still has by far the largest market cap on any streaming platform so any artist who thoroughly dominates the US will also dominate a considerable amount of the Global market cap and Morgan Wallen charted more songs in the top 100 of Apple Music's Global chart than Taylor Swift.
