Mr Morale most streamed rap album of the year on Spotify = FLOP
FATD most streamed rap album of the year on Spotify = Wow biggest rap album of the year!!!
They’re so embarrassing

Mr. Morale wasn’t even the most streamed rap album of the year on spotify tho. CLB was in 2022. Mr. Morale was just the most streamed of rap albums released that year lol
They used to boast about sales numbers but now that Drake was surpassed in that area for once, they’ve resorted to streaming numbers
Embarrassing stanbase
I don’t get the weirdos that are trying to act like Utopia flopped but at the same time no s*** that the album that was released months before the other has more overall total sales lol. That’s how it usually works unless you’re taylor swift. They’re being weird about it but they’re right, the streaming numbers show that fatd will perform better long term than utopia. Streaming numbers are sales btw since they are included in the sales formula. It’s just that it takes like 1,500 streams to equal 1 sale

correct
Amazing. Utopia is still the highest selling rap album of 2023.
Highest selling bundles for sure

It’s just funny that they always boast about sales numbers, but now that Drake didn’t have the highest in that category this year, they’ve resorted to streaming numbers. It’s pathetic and gives sore loser energy.
Also, the time of release has nothing to do with it. CLB released in September 2021 and was the highest selling rap album of 2021.

Streaming numbers are sales, it’s included in billboard sps (sales+streaming) formula, I don’t think you understand that lol. Time of release is 1000% a factor in why an album might be #1 over another. One had more time to collect units over the other. Same s*** happens with songs too, sometimes they get “caught in-between years” and don’t end up as high on the year end charts as they should be because of its release time. Either way I think Utopia is worthy #1 since the album did actually pull crazy numbers and dominate the conversation when it came out.

Think Her Loss is technically the highest selling rap album of 2023 if we wanna be technical but yeah lol

Streams are not sales - that’s why they have to be ‘included’ in the first place

If it’s apart of the sales formula and equates to a sale it’s basically a sale unless you wanna argue semantics. When looking at any metrics with units the thing people call “sales” actually include streaming in it too, it’s just converted through a formula.
2020 feels like a different era
Morgan G Wagon Wallen is really the King of this s***

Of course I understand, the point I’m making is that Drake stans on here weren’t making the distinction between sales and streams until Drake lost the sales battle this year
It’s pathetic

Also this. They’re only technically “sales” because Billboard allowed them to be. A stream is not a sale at the basic level of what a sale is.

Lost the battle? What battle?
People like you really do get hurt about Drake outdoing everyone in rap every year. That's what's pathetic.
Utopia had the biggest rap album debut this year and had a massive pure sales boost in its first 4 weeks (thanks to $5 vinyls) AND it was released 9 whole weeks before For All the Dogs. Why wouldn't it have sold more units? Especially with For All the Dogs being a Q4 release?
This all started because someone posted a tweet from a Drake fan account factually stating that For All the Dogs had now surpassed Utopia in US streaming consumption and you came in here crying, acting like that automatically meant it was a shot at Utopia's performance
"Lost the sales battle"
You idiots really wait with bated breath to see who outperforms Drake on any given year and rally behind that person to throw stones. Such foolish and childish behavior. And then y'all act surprised when Drake stans return the same energy later on.

I don’t get butthurt about anything. If Drake leads the year in sales, cool. If he doesn’t and someone else does, cool.
Y’all are the ones switching the syntax to make it seem like Drake still had the biggest rap album of the year

Nobody that actually cares about music does this because we don’t obsess over sales figures, we simply observe them

No one switched anything. Again, you came in here trying to throw shade simply because someone factually stated that For All the Dogs had amassed more US streams than Utopia. You took that post as a dig at Utopia's success when it was simply someone posting yet another random stat/fact, like countless other people do in this thread everyday. That's it.
You came in here crying then tried to act like For All the Dogs not already outselling a rap album that debuted with more units and was released 9 weeks earlier was some sort of underperformance on Drake's part, saying when the album dropped didn't matter (I imagine, since to you, Drake, 15 years into his career, should keep outselling everybody in rap every year, even if he drops his albums in the last week of the year) — all of this to "stick it" to Drake fans. Pathetic behavior, I have to say.
You keep insisting you don't care about sales or numbers till it's time to talk s*** to Drake fans using someone else's numbers so tell yourself whatever you need to tell yourself lmao.
Nobody that actually cares about music does this because we don’t obsess over sales figures, we simply observe them
You got it, buddy
Also this. They’re only technically “sales” because Billboard allowed them to be. A stream is not a sale at the basic level of what a sale is.
The whole music industry has formulas that equate streams to sales it ain’t just billboard. Just because users shaleirose and brave of ktt2 say they’re not doesn’t mean that it’s true
. Y'all just want to argue semantics lol
