People say 2018 was Drake's peak year, in that year he sold roughly 6.5m album units
People say 2020 was The Weeknd's peak year, in that year he sold roughly 3.2m album units
Morgan Wallen sold 8.3m in 2023. This guy sold more units than After Hours 2020 (2m) + Astroworld 2018 (1.9m) + Utopia 2023 (1.7m) + FATD 2023 (1.3m) + Adele's 30 2021 (1.4m) combined

globally he probably did, but surely he didnt sell 8m in US last year?
edit: yea i'm wrongI don't really understand how he sold "nearly 10m" when HL + FATD combined was "only" 2.7m though. Weird
they're also saying TAylor sold 19m lol, I don't understand how they get to those numbers anymore

its just that extensive catalogue where every past album is doing 500k+ a year in sales passively, and relatively newer albums pushing 1mil and brand new pushing multi-mill
the back-catalogue is more important than ever with streaming

clb did like 860ktrue that's 4.2m though, there's still another 5m to make up. Nothing else he put out did over 760k units last year
I just don't really see how his other projects make up 5m, I wish there was a more comphrensive album sales list that listed more than the top 50
