U say who cares but she clearly does hence why she does it? And what's the problem with enjoying stuff like that? Even the other way around why should Charli or her fans care about her getting number #1 then? It's still a big achievement for her to get #2.

Oh I just saw your avi, nevermind

SZA did not drop a million versions of SOS to do that, people were just playing the album.

Also, people are talking about what she’s been doing with TTPD, not any other album.

It’s well documented at this point that she’s only doing this to prominent female artists

But it's something ppl have been attacking her for a while now even outside of this, even when it comes to singles there's always the "oh here comes taylor blocking insert artist here once again!".

So it's not a new phenomenon. First it was "only doing it to black artists" now its "only women". Which male artist have recently released something with as close of a sale for it to even be worthy of competition?

I genuinely don't remember but was SZA releasing a bunch of different versions every week or was it just being streamed and bought more than Midnights?

Well yeah? because even then she released a couple variants and it clearly didn't help secure her number #1 spot for a few weeks. So it shows that these tactics don't always work. Charli released like 12 variants for brats as well and still couldn't reach number #1 against someone who just dropped a couple new voice memos.

Charli has the better album but clearly the support isn't fully there and it equates to Taylor then getting massive hate lmao.

The only source to ever claim that is Genius. It’s safe to say it’s not true

“One might say Kendrick Lamar’s “6:16 in LA” is “Taylor Made.” A rep for Jack Antonoff confirmed to Billboard that the Bleachers frontman and frequent Taylor Swift collaborator worked on K. Dot’s latest Drake diss track.”

I mean more like why does she care so much? then I answered why I think she cares so much. of course people can enjoy their favorite artists getting commercial success, but it doesn’t ACTUALLY matter. especially when she has to resort to these pathetic measures to maintain #1 status.

Charli fans are happy to see her getting commercial success because she never had that, and she’s reaching a new level with the new album, only for that success to be stifled and overshadowed by Taylor’s gross tactics

And that's the problem people have with Taylor lol you can be upset about it all you want but it's not gonna change how people see it. Taylor is very obviously the biggest star on the planet so the fact she resorts to the same tactics lesser known artists use to get sales rubs people the wrong way.

She doesn't have to release different variants of her album to sell records, Charli does. That's the issue people have with her. Is it silly and nonsensical? Yeah. But it is what it is.

Idg this narrative of she's anti feminist because she doesn't let other artist get their push at number 1 in a competitive industry always gets brought up.

If she has the means to remain at number 1 by playing the system then why wouldn't she? Mfs expect her to feel bad for her competitors

    She's ripping people off fam

For some reason people just cant outright say they dislike an artist, and instead make up some bullshit angle to cope.

Couple years ago she was racist for blocking Drake/SZA now she's misogynist for blocking Billie/Charli

because no one is as petty with it like Taylor is lol, there's nothing else to it, idk why you're acting like there is

you've gotta remember that Taylor spending another week at #1 means WAAAAAAAAAY less for Taylor's career than s*** like Charli going #1, so yes it's gonna piss people off

Taylor could easily use her platform to uplift other women in the industry, instead she does the literal opposite, how isn't that a problem?

13th of June last year there were 0 songs on Spotify US daily getting over 1.5m streams a day

    Yesterday there was 12

lmao, spotify are either cooking the numbers now or there's a massive resurgence in listening habits happening

  • Jun 14, 2024
