and their fans still don’t like him lol
Wrong.
And the man who's about to drop his third dance-esque record in a row has a plethora of his own "girls and gays" type fans lol don't let the rap feats fool you.
The people are tired of After Hours v3. At least Bruno switches it up every album.
You clearly didn't actually listen to Dawn FM lol.

Absolutely insane statement to make considering that most people’s issue with Dawn FM was that it was too different from After Hours
true. Brunos songs are not even from his new album while The Weeknd is trying hard to make his final album happen
"final album" just like his "last ever feature" which he then broke less than a year later lmao
i rly am a hater
Bruno and Abel are both massive and global
I just think Abel dropping constantly (AH, Dawn, The Idol + features and Starboy resurgence) might be hurting the new era. There's a sense of fatigue rn. But he will be fine
It's hurting the new era because the music is a cheaper version of AH i think, I don't think there's any other reason for it. I heard that new song he previewed for the first time yday and it literally sounded like an AH cut. AH is almost 5 years old. BL turns 5 next month.
The distance in time between now + BL is the same as Gods Plan to Hold on We're Coming Home. Yet The Weeknd seems to be stuck on that sound still
People were still on their knees slobbering for new Drake in 2018 when he had dropped WAAAY more music in the previous 5 years than what The Weeknd has done in the last 5, and that's because a lot of it was stylistically very different to each other

I totally forgot about that. He lied his ass off regarding that. And for what?

They'll never admit to this. The Weeknd had a lot of stylistic changes from the Trilogy era to Kiss Land to Beauty Behind the Madness and even till Starboy. He explored pop music in different ways on all those projects but he was always making sonic progressions and many of those songs sound different from one another. Even My Dear Melancholy, is it's own thing but since the After Hours era, he's been stuck in an 80s loop. He won with it once with After Hours but he'll never win with it again. He can ask Dua Lipa how taking time off and returning with an album that didn't expand and progress her sound sonically worked out for her (it didn't).
I've said it here before that the Weeknd doesn't need any more hits to keep selling out tours but there's a reason why his biggest hits from the past few years are from songs that either sound nothing like stuff off After Hours/Dawn FM and/or are much older songs going viral. That's all you need to know that even his own fans are sick off that sound.

It’s almost like… he’s in the middle of a trilogy heavily inspired by 80s pop music
I totally forgot about that. He lied his ass off regarding that. And for what?
It’s almost like…. the artist he publicly gave his intended last feature to then became the subject of a high profile court case involving sexual assault

Lmao then why does this new album sound entirely like AH 2.0. Dawn FM was at least different
It being a 5 year long trilogy doesn't excuse the music sounding the same as it did 5 years ago at all

LOOOL this is such a crazy excuse for it
When he said it was last ever ft, someone had obviously wronged him and he was just going through a teenager moment. it's fine. he got over it and then started doing fts again. lets be real that's what happened lol

It sounds so much like After Hours that people on here who didn’t like the singles were complaining because it didn’t sound like After Hours

I didn't see any of that tbh, but the singles are actually the least ah sounding things from the project, theyre just too generic instead, everything else he previewed is literally a cut from ah i swear lol

You really think they were just gonna sit with the fact that his last feature went to a nigga accused of the most heinous crimes ever?
I know you hate Weeknd with all your heart but please use some common sense

Yeah I hate my 3rd/4th most listened to artist lol
I never saw anyone ever talk about that, its somethin you've made up to try defend him acting like a teen i swear

this is like bro took a few songs from AH & asked AI to make a new song

This sounds much more like Secrets than anything on After Hours
It’s almost like…. the artist he publicly gave his intended last feature to then became the subject of a high profile court case involving sexual assault
I don't think this is the reason, bro probably simply changed his mind lol
I do wonder if he keeps with the last "The Weeknd" album tho. Could be tight to put it to rest and make music under a new moniker (his gov't)
