I was told we had to report Drake's last tour as Drake + 21 Savage

I mean, Drake himself chose to label it as such

The tour is officially and legally labeled as “Drake & 21”.

That’s why people said don’t forget to include 21’s name

A real global smash hit by a real global superstar.

    https://twitter.com/chartdata/status/1849082907106697541https://twitter.com/chartdata/status/1849101756417851894

Surely there's been less than 5 songs with 14.5m in 1 day right? non album bombs anyway
    that's insane

The US is the third largest country in the world by population.

Drake being more popular than Weeknd here as well as being big globally obviously would make his global total bigger since the global total includes US numbers.

Weeknd is bigger everywhere else on the planet.

It’s really not a hard concept to understand.

And actually, The Weeknd did out-stream Drake globally in 2023, and did that without a new album out. He’s also on pace to out-stream him again in 2024.

Weeknd isn't bigger in Canada or UK either tbh

Ive also shown you like 5 countries in Europe where Drake's had way more chart success than Weeknd

is there a source for Weeknd outstreaming Drake globally in 2023?

Your definition of “more chart success” is One Dance spending a few more weeks at #1 in the UK than Blinding Lights, even though Blinding Lights was on the chart for two entire more years

And yes, the source is Spotify:

Nah. Drake's had 5 top 10 songs in Spain for example, The Weeknd has had 4

Same in Netherlands, DRake has had 10 top 10s, 3 #1s there
    Weeknd 7 top 10s, 2 #1s

    Germany Drake 7 top 10s, 2 #1s, Weeknd 6 top 10s, 1 #1

You obsess over chart position rather than chart longevity and I will never understand why

A song can debut at #1 and stay there for one week. Chart position alone without any context means absolutely nothing.

Weeknd is in the midst of a huge album rollout supported by Apple, with 2 singles out

    chart performance?
    Spain: Neither in top 100
    UK: Timeless 19th, DITF 43rd
    Netherlands: Timeless 54th, DITF 59th
    US: Timeless 13th, DITF 52nd

global superstar with a rollout going double doodoo

yes i'm talking about the last 15 years of their careers, rather than focusing on 1 song which is a complete outlier, how is that bad lol

You can say this, but do you really think any song he’s dropped within the past 5 years is long-term hit material?

The difference being The Weeknd is on his knees for promo, collabing with apple, dropping multiple mvs before the album, and he's literally a popstar, Drake isn't a popstar, yet it still isn't resulting in success for the weeknd, i don't get how you don't think that's a problem

Nop he stopped caring about numbers after he dropped Scorpion, doesn't make any pop music anymore and even sabotages his catchy s*** seemingly on purpose with stupid intros/outros or weird fts like SExy redd lmao

his sstyle of music also just rarely charts well now too

Like I’ve explained before, The Weeknd has had numerous songs take a while to catch wind with the GP. It’s been a month since the two singles dropped, I’m not losing sleep over how they’re doing commercially yet.

I keep saying just give it a couple months and then you can call it a flop all you want if it still never takes off, but Weeknd has already proven time and time again that a lot of his hit records are slow burns
